The present invention relates to a growth promoting composition for animals, more specifically, the general formula () (In the formula, R 1 , R 2 , R 3 and R 4 represent a lower alkyl group.) The present invention relates to an animal growth promoting composition containing one or more compounds represented by the following formula and Oraquindocus or colistin as active ingredients. The present inventors previously discovered that the compound represented by the above general formula () has a growth promoting effect on animals (Japanese Patent Application Laid-open No. 54-40178). As a result of further research, it was discovered that when the compound represented by the above general formula () and olaquindox or colistin were simultaneously administered to animals, a growth promoting effect was superior to when each was administered alone. The present invention has been completed based on the above findings. The compound represented by the general formula () used in the present invention is, for example,

As mentioned above, the toxicity to quail is extremely low at 2000 mg/Kg or more, so it is extremely safe. These compounds are found in Streptomyces aureus (FERM-P233)
can be obtained by culturing in a nutrient medium. (Refer to Special Publication No. 49-45597). What is obtained by this method is usually a mixture of these compounds, and mixtures with various proportions and compositions can be obtained by changing the culture conditions, but usually about 10% No.
No. 3 compound, about 40% No. 4 compound and about 50%
It is obtained as a mixture containing compound No. 5 as the main component, and this mixture is called polynactin complex (common name). Furthermore, due to differences in the manufacturing method or purification process, substances with the same formula that are considered to be various stereoisomers with slightly different physical and chemical properties may be recognized, but these are distinguished in the present invention. It can be used without any trouble. Oraquindocus colistin used in the present invention is known to have a growth promoting effect on pigs and chickens, and both are commercially available as feed additives. Examples of animals targeted by the growth promoting composition of the present invention include livestock such as pigs, chickens, and cows. The composition of the present invention can be prepared by mixing 50 to 0.01 parts of Orakindox or colistin with 1 part of the compound represented by the general formula (), or by mixing these with a physiologically harmless solid or liquid carrier.
They can also be obtained by mixing them with commercially available feed. The composition of the present invention includes tablets, capsules, granules,
It may be administered to animals after being formed into a solid preparation such as a pellet pellet or a liquid preparation, or as it is. Examples of the solid carrier used here include wheat flour, soybean flour, defatted rice bran, talc, kaolin, chalk, diatomaceous earth, and the like. In addition, auxiliary agents or additives such as emulsifiers, dispersants, suspending agents, and wetting agents may be used as necessary. The dose of the composition of the present invention to be administered to animals is, for example, 0.004 to 20 mg/Kg/day, preferably 0.02 mg/Kg/day as the active ingredient.
~8mg/Kg/day, more preferably 0.04~2
It is about mg/Kg/day. When the composition of the present invention is a feed, the amount of the active ingredient contained in the feed is 0.1 to 500 ppm, preferably 0.5 to 200 ppm, more preferably 1 to 500 ppm.
It is about 100ppm. The feed used here may be any commercially available feed for livestock, including grains such as corn and milo, edible oil meal such as soybean meal, bran such as bran and rice bran, corn gluten meal, and starch. Manufacturing lees such as lees, soybean oil lees, and molasses,
It is made by mixing feed ingredients such as meat and bone meal, fish meal, whey, skimmed milk powder, blood meal, feather meal, animal substances such as animal fats and oils in appropriate proportions, and then adding feed additives such as minerals, vitamins, and amino acids. It may also be ivy feed. The excellent effects of the composition of the present invention will be explained below using experimental examples. Experimental example 1 (1) Experimental method Using 5-week-old LH piglets, a composition consisting of polynactin complex and oraquindocus (composition ratio 1:1) was added to the basal feed shown in Table 2 at a concentration of 10 ppm. A 12-week study was conducted by feeding piglets with feed supplemented with the following values (ad libitum three times a day). The number of animals was 4 per group, and the test was repeated 4 times. Body weight and feed intake were measured every two weeks, and weight gain and feed conversion rate were calculated. In addition, control groups were fed feed containing 10 ppm of polynactin complex and Oraquindocus alone, and feed containing no additives.

Experimental example 2 (1) Experimental method Using 5-day-old Hubbart chicks, the concentrations of polynactin complex and Oraquindocus or colistin were added to the basal feed shown in Table 4.
Chickens were fed feed containing 5 ppm and 10 ppm in total, and an 8-week test was conducted. The number of animals was 20 per group, and the test was repeated four times. Body weight and feed intake were measured every two weeks, and weight gain and feed conversion rate were calculated. In addition, the control groups were fed feed containing 10 ppm each of polynactin complex, oraquindocus, and colistin, and feed containing no additives.
