Description

The present invention relates to a wedge fastening device used in scaffolding such as temporary scaffolding.

Conventionally, a wedge fastening device has been provided for temporary scaffolding that is constructed and dismantled. For example, as shown in Figure 1, a wedge fastening device is known as a device for detachably connecting a support 1 and a connecting member 2 such as a cross member, which is configured to fasten a connecting fitting 5 fixed to the end of the connecting member 2 with a wedge member 6 to fastening holes 4 provided in flanges 3 fixedly installed at intervals in the longitudinal direction of the support 1.

The connecting fitting 5 forms a receiving portion 9 between the upper and lower jaws 5a, 5b, and has an upper insertion hole 7 and a lower insertion hole 8 in each of the upper and lower jaws 5a, 5b. When the flange 3 is inserted into the receiving portion 9, the fastening hole 4 of the flange and the insertion holes 7, 8 of the upper and lower jaws are vertically connected.

The wedge member 6 is formed from a plate-like body with a thickness that allows it to be inserted freely through each of the holes, and is formed so that the width between the abdomen 6a and the back 6b gradually narrows downward.

Then, when the wedge member 6 is inserted from top to bottom through the insertion hole 7 of the upper jaw 5a, the fastening hole 4 of the flange 3, and the insertion hole 8 of the lower jaw 5b, it is struck downward with a hammer or the like, and the wedge member 6 is pressed into between the support edge 4a of the fastening hole 4 and the receiving edges 7a, 8a of the insertion holes 7, 8. By pushing the connecting fitting 5 while widening the gap between the support edge 4a and the receiving edges 7a, 8a, the tips of the upper and lower jaws 5a, 5b come into pressure contact with the surface of the support. This results in a fastened state between the flange 3, the wedge member 6, the connecting fitting 5, and the support 1.

In this tightened state, the lower end of the wedge member 6 inserted through the insertion hole 8 of the lower jaw portion 5b is struck with a hammer or the like to move it upward, thereby releasing the tightened state.

To perform the above-mentioned fastening work, first, the connecting fitting 5 must be moved laterally from a position facing the side of the flange 3 toward the flange 3, the flange 3 must enter the receiving portion 9, and the mounting surface 10 of the upper jaw portion 5a must be placed on the flange 3. However, if the wedge member 6 is located inside the receiving portion 9 at this time, the flange 3 cannot enter the receiving portion 9. For this reason, as shown in FIG. 1(A), the worker must lift the wedge member 6 to the retracted position PX with the worker's fingertips or the like to open the receiving portion 9, and then move the connecting fitting 5 toward the flange 3 while holding the wedge member 6.

When the flange 3 is inserted into the receiving portion 9 and the wedge member 6 is facing the fastening hole 4 of the flange, it is released from the grip of the fingertips, etc. The wedge member 6 will descend under its own weight and stop at the stop position PY, and can then be moved down to the fastening position PZ by subsequently striking it with a hammer, etc.

The construction of scaffolding requires fastening work at many points. The connecting fitting 5 is a heavy object integrated with the connecting member 2, so positioning it so that it faces the flange 3 and moving it laterally is hard work, and it is also hard on the worker to continue to hold the wedge member 6 raised to the retracted position PX during this work.

The same applies when dismantling scaffolding; the untightened wedge member 6 must be lifted to the retracted position PX and kept in the lifted state until the flange 3 is removed from the receiving portion 9 of the connecting fitting 5.

In order to solve the above problem, for example, a spring that holds the wedge member in place can be provided on the connecting fitting, and the worker can use his or her fingertips to move the wedge member up and down against the resilience of the spring, so that when the wedge member is positioned at the retracted position PX as described above, it will stop and be held in that retracted position even if the worker releases the wedge member from the fingertips.

However, while this solves the above problem, when the upper jaw of the connecting fitting is placed on the flange while the wedge member is held in the retracted position, there is a risk that the mounting surface of the upper jaw will slide over the top surface of the flange and fall off the flange before the wedge member is driven in. In particular, in the case of a long and heavy connecting member, it is difficult to simultaneously place both ends of the connecting member on the flanges of a pair of supports, so the procedure is to first place the connecting fitting at one end on one flange, and then place the connecting fitting at the other end on the other flange. However, since the position of the connecting member changes during this process, the connecting fitting that was supposed to have been placed on the flange first can easily fall off, creating a new problem of reduced work efficiency.

The object of the present invention is to provide a wedge fastening device that, when the flange is inserted into the receiving portion of the connecting fitting, stops the wedge member at standby position P1, and at that time, sets the standby position P1 at a position where the lower end of the wedge member protrudes downward a predetermined distance (t) from the mounting surface of the upper jaw portion, and when the mounting surface of the upper jaw portion of the connecting fitting is placed on the flange, inserts and engages the lower end of the wedge member into the fastening hole of the flange, thereby preventing the mounting surface of the upper jaw portion from sliding on the top surface of the flange and preventing it from falling off the flange.

The object of the present invention is to provide a holding means configured such that, with respect to the waiting position P1 where the lower end of the wedge member is located at a predetermined height (h) above the upper surface of the lower jaw, the operator can simply release the wedge member held up with his fingertips and let it fall under its own weight, and the wedge member is received at the exact position that corresponds to the waiting position (P1) and held stationary in that position, but when the wedge member is driven toward the fastening position P2 by striking it with a hammer or the like, the holding means is suitably released.

Therefore, the means of the present invention to achieve the above object are a fastening device that uses a wedge member to connect a flange fixed to a support and a connecting fitting fixed to a connecting member, the connecting fitting forming a receiving portion between the upper jaw and the lower jaw into which the flange is inserted, and the wedge member has a wedge body portion and a branch portion that are inserted into the upper and lower jaw portions, respectively, arranged side by side and integrated together, and the lower end of the wedge body portion is driven into a fastening hole in the flange from a waiting position P1 at a predetermined height (h) from the upper surface of the lower jaw portion, and the wedge body portion is driven downward to a fastening position P2, and fastening is performed by moving the wedge body portion downward from the waiting position P1 at a predetermined height (h) from the upper surface of the lower jaw portion to a fastening position P2, and a stopper portion is protruded from the floating surface of the branch portion of the wedge member, and a holding portion is provided on a holding means built into the connecting fitting, and the stopper portion is held The wedge member is placed on the holding portion and its own weight is supported to hold the wedge member stationary in the standby position (P1), but when a downward external force is applied to the wedge member from the stationary state, the stopper portion pushes and displaces the holding portion, passing through and moving the wedge member downward toward the fastening position (P2). The holding means is composed of a fixed wall facing the floating surface of the branch portion and a wire bending body made of a spring wire provided along the fixed wall, and the wire bending body forms the holding portion by bending the tip of an elastic arm attached to the outer surface of the fixed wall in a bow shape toward the floating surface, and is configured to displace the holding portion in a direction away from the floating surface through elastic deformation of the elastic arm.

A preferred embodiment of the present invention is configured such that a support means is formed on the outer surface of the fixed wall to receive the elastic arm against its elastic force, and by receiving the elastic arm, the holding portion is held in a position where it does not press against the floating surface.

It is preferable that the holding means forms a guide passage for guiding the vertical movement of the branch portion of the wedge member by a peripheral wall including the fixed wall.

Preferably, in the standby position P1, the lower end of the wedge body protrudes from the placement surface formed on the lower surface of the upper jaw toward the inside of the receiving section by a distance (t), and a guide portion is formed at the lower end. When the flange is advanced toward the receiving section in the standby position P1 state, the guide portion abuts against and rides up the edge of the flange, so that the lower end is moved upward toward the retreat position P0 where the lower end is flush with the placement surface, and when the lower end faces the fastening hole of the flange, the wedge member is moved downward toward the standby position P1 by its own weight, and the lower end is inserted and locked into the fastening hole. And, with respect to the holding portion of the holding means, the branch portion of the wedge member forms a lower floating area below the stopper portion, and the holding portion and the lower floating area are configured to allow the wedge member to move up and down between the standby position P1 and the retreat position P0.

In this case, it is preferable to configure the distance (t) so that t < T, where T is the thickness of the flange.

More preferably, when the wedge member is in the standby position P1, the height (h) of the space between the lower end of the wedge body and the lower jaw is configured to be T≦h relative to the thickness (T) of the flange, the lower distance (g) and upper distance (e) constituting the protruding distance (t) of the lower end protruding downward from the mounting surface are configured to be e<g, the guide portion is formed in the area of the lower end included in the lower distance (g), and the locking portion is formed in the area of the upper distance (e), and when the wedge member is in the standby position P1 and the mounting surface of the upper jaw is placed on the flange, the locking portion locks into the fastening hole of the flange, thereby preventing lateral movement of the upper jaw.

The guide portion is preferably formed at the lower end of the wedge body portion by a conical surface that is approximately conical toward the center of the lower end or a spherical surface that is approximately spherical.

According to the present invention, the wedge member 16 can be stationary in the standby position P1 by the holding means 37, so that the work of connecting the wedge-equipped connecting fittings 15, 15 provided at both ends of the long connecting member 12 to the flanges 13 of the support pillars 11 erected at a predetermined interval can be simplified and made easy.

The holding means 37 is provided with a fixed wall 42 facing the floating surface 34 of the branch portion 16B of the wedge member 16, thereby favorably guiding the vertical movement of the branch portion 16B. The elastic arm 45 is attached to the outer surface of the fixed wall 42, and the holding part 46 faces the floating surface 34. The stopper part 36 protruding from a predetermined position on the floating surface 34 is placed on the holding part 46 to support the weight of the wedge member 16, and the wedge member is stopped at the standby position (P1). Since the elastic arm 45 and the holding part 46 are formed from a bent wire body 39 made of spring wire, it is possible to make it stronger than a leaf spring, etc., and when an external force is applied to move the stationary wedge member 16 downward toward the fastening position (P2), the holding part 46 is pushed by the stopper part 36 against the wire surface at the bent inclined part, and is displaced by elastically deforming the elastic arm 45, and the stopper part 36 is moved downward in an appropriate manner. At this time, the contact area between the stopper part 36 and the holding part 46 is minimized by the surface of the wire forming the holding part 46, allowing smooth movement without resistance.

And, according to a preferred configuration of the present invention, by simply moving the connecting fitting 15 towards the flange 13 and inserting the flange 13 into the receiving portion 20, the wedge member 16 automatically retreats from the standby position (P1) towards the retracted position (P0), allowing the flange 13 to enter smoothly, and by simply moving the connecting fitting 15 to a predetermined position on the flange 13, the wedge member 16 automatically returns from the retracted position (P0) to the standby position (P1) again, allowing the lower end 25e to be inserted into the fastening hole 14 of the flange 13, making the operation even simpler and easier.

According to a further preferred configuration of the present invention, after the flange 13 is inserted into the receiving portion 20, the mounting surface 30 of the upper jaw portion 18 is placed on the flange 13, so that the lower end portion 25e is inserted and locked into the fastening hole 14 of the flange 13, thereby preventing the connecting fitting 15 from falling off the flange 13.

A preferred embodiment of the present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the drawings.

(Basic structure)
As shown in the figure, the wedge fastening device is a device for detachably connecting a support 11 and a connecting member 12 such as a cross member in, for example, temporary scaffolding, and is configured to fasten a connecting fitting 15 fixed to the end of the connecting member 12 with a wedge member 16 to fastening holes 14 provided in flanges 13 fixed at intervals along the longitudinal direction of the support 11.

The connecting fitting 15 extends the upper jaw 18 and the lower jaw 19 from the base 17 fixed to the connecting member 12, forming a receiving portion 20 between the upper and lower jaws, with an upper insertion hole 21 and a lower insertion hole 22 provided in the upper and lower jaws, respectively, so that when the flange 13 is inserted into the receiving portion 20, the fastening hole 14 of the flange and the insertion holes 21, 22 of the upper and lower jaws are vertically connected. In addition, the tips of the upper jaw 18 and the lower jaw 19 are provided with abutment portions 18a, 19a formed by arcuate surfaces that follow the circumferential surface of the support 11.

The wedge member 16 is formed from a plate-like body with a thickness that allows it to be freely inserted into each of the holes 21, 14, and 22, and the vertical middle portion forms a wedge portion 23, with a head portion 24 and legs 25 provided above and below the wedge portion 23, and the wedge portion 23 is formed so that the width between the abdomen 23a and the back portion 23b gradually narrows downward. In this case, the abdomen 23a is formed so as to be approximately parallel to the axis of the support 11, and the back portion 23b is formed so as to be inclined with respect to it. The head portion 24 is formed in a block shape that is thicker than the legs 25.

As described later, the flange 13 is inserted into the receiving portion 20 of the connecting fitting 15, and the insertion holes 21, 22 of the upper and lower jaws 18, 19 are placed above and below the fastening hole 14 of the flange. The wedge member 16 is inserted from top to bottom into these holes, and then struck downward with a hammer or the like. The wedge member 16 is pressed into between the support edge 14a of the fastening hole 14 and the receiving edges 21a, 22a of the insertion holes 21, 22, and the connecting fitting 15 is moved forward toward the support 11 while pushing apart the space between the support edge 4a and the receiving edges 21a, 22a, causing the abutment portions 18a, 19a of the upper and lower jaws 18, 19 to abut against the surface of the support 11 in a pressed state. This results in a fastened state between the flange 13, the wedge member 16, the connecting fitting 15, and the support 11.

Then, from this tightened state, if the wedge member 16 is moved upward by hitting it with a hammer, the tightened state is released.

The above basic configuration is generally similar to that of the conventional technology described above, so below we will explain an embodiment that embodies the features of the present invention.

As shown in Figures 2 and 3, the connecting fitting 15 has a void 26 formed inside the base 17 adjacent to the receiving portion 20, an opening 27 that opens from the void 26 toward the tail end, and an upper guide hole 28 and a lower guide hole 29 located above and below the void 26.

The receiving section 20 is divided from above and below by a mounting surface 30 formed on the underside of the upper jaw section 18 and the upper surface of the lower jaw section 19, and at the back of the receiving section 20, a receiving stopper section 31 is formed facing downward from the mounting surface 30.

(Configuration of the wedge member)
As shown in Figures 2 to 4, the wedge member 16 is formed by integrating a wedge main body 16A having a head 24 and a leg 25 with a branch 16B arranged side by side, and the wedge main body 16A and the branch 16B are integrated via a horizontal connecting portion 16C that connects the upper ends of the leg 25 and the branch 16B to each other, and the entire wedge member 16 is formed by forging or the like.

The wedge member 16 is configured so that the legs 25 of the wedge body 16A can be freely inserted into the upper and lower insertion holes 21, 22 relative to the upper and lower jaws 18, 19 of the connecting fitting 15, and the branch 16B is inserted into the upper and lower guide holes 28, 29, and a retaining means 32 is formed by the head of a rivet or the like inserted into the lower end of the branch 16B (see Figures 7 and 8).

The lower end 25e of the wedge body 16A is provided with a guide portion 33 formed by a conical surface that is approximately conical toward the center of the lower end. As a result, the guide portion 33 is provided around the entire circumference of the lower end 25e. Note that instead of a conical surface, the guide portion 33 may be formed by a spherical surface that is approximately spherical.

The branch 16B of the wedge member 16 is formed with a predetermined widthwise thickness (w1), forming a free-floating surface 34 extending vertically on the side of the branch 16B, and guide ribs 35, 35 are formed along both sides of the free-floating surface 34. A stopper portion 36 formed by a horizontal rib connecting the guide ribs 35, 35 is provided at a predetermined position on the free-floating surface 34. Therefore, the widthwise thickness (w2) including the stopper portion 36 is greater than the widthwise thickness (w1) of the free-floating surface 34, and a convex portion is formed by the stopper portion 36. As a result, the free-floating surface 34 is divided into an upper free-floating surface 34a and a lower free-floating surface 34b that extend vertically above and below the stopper portion 36.

(Configuration of holding means)
A retaining means 37 is provided in the hollow portion 26 of the connecting fitting 15. As shown in Figures 2 to 6, the retaining means 37 is composed of a square cylindrical body 38 formed by bending a metal plate, and a bent wire body 39 formed by bending a spring wire.

The cylindrical body 38 has a rectangular cylindrical peripheral wall that forms a guide passage 40 that guides the branch portion 16B of the wedge member 16 to move freely in the vertical direction. When the cylindrical peripheral wall is installed inside the cavity 26, the rectangular cylindrical peripheral wall is composed of a rear wall 41 that faces the opening 27, a pair of fixed walls 42, 42 that are bent from both sides of the rear wall to face the side of the branch portion 16B, and a front wall 43 that is further bent from the fixed wall to face the receiving portion 20.

When the branch 16B is inserted into the guide passage 40, the inside clearance dimension (w4) of the fixed walls 42, 42 of the cylinder 38 is formed so that w4 > w2 to accommodate the thickness (w2) of the portion including the guide ribs 35, 35 of the branch 16B. However, in order to guide the branch 16B without any wobble, the gap (s) between the fixed wall 42 and the guide rib 35 is formed as small as possible, as shown in Figure 6 (A).

In addition, when the branch 16B is inserted through the guide passage 40, the abdomen 16b of the branch 16B faces closely to the front wall 43 of the cylinder 38, and is guided in its vertical movement.

The bent wire body 39 is composed of a fixed portion 44 that crosses the rear wall 41 of the cylindrical body 38, a pair of elastic arms 45, 45 that are bent from both ends of the fixed portion 44 and aligned with the fixed walls 42, 42, and a retaining portion 46 formed by bending the tip of the elastic arm into a bow shape toward the guide passage 40, and the fixed portion 44 is fixed to the rear wall 41 of the cylindrical body 38 by fastening a fixing means 47 such as a fixing plate with a fastener 47a such as a rivet.

The fixed walls 42, 42 have openings 42a such as slits or window holes, and the pair of retaining portions 46, 46 have opposing protrusions 46a of their arch-shaped bends protruding from the openings 42a toward the inside of the guide passage 40.

In this regard, the term "arch-shaped" in relation to the curved shape of the retaining portion 46 should not be interpreted in a restrictive sense, but rather includes the "arc-shaped" shape as shown in the figure, as well as other "U-shaped" or "L-shaped" shapes. In short, as shown in the figure, it is sufficient that the retaining portion 46 is formed by a series of upper and lower inclined portions 46b, 46c that gradually incline in a direction away from the floating surface 34 from above and below the protruding portion 46a that is closest to the floating surface 34.

In the illustrated embodiment, the elastic arm 45 of the wire bent body 39 has a first arm portion 45a that is bent from the fixed portion 44 and extends laterally along the fixed wall 42, and a second arm portion 45b that extends upward from the first arm portion toward the passage opening 42a, and the holding portion 46 is bent and formed at the tip of the second arm portion 45b.

In this case, it is preferable that the wire bending body 39 has a pair of elastic arms 45, 45 in an elastically deformed, expanded state, and the fixed walls 42, 42 are fitted between them. In other words, the elastic arms 45 are configured to always be in elastic contact with the fixed wall 42 in a resilient biased state, and the outer surface of the fixed wall 42 forms a support means 48 that receives the elastic arms 45 against the elastic force.

As a result, as shown in FIG. 6(A), the elastic arms 45, 45 are received by the support means 48, 48, and the protrusions 46a, 46a of the holding portions 46, 46 are configured to protrude toward the inside of the guide passage 40, while maintaining the mutual spacing at the spacing distance (w3).

The spacing distance (w3) is configured such that w1≦w3<w2, where w1 is the thickness at the floating surface 34 of the branch portion 16B and w2 is the thickness at the stopper portion 36.

Therefore, when the branch 16B of the wedge member 16 is inserted through the guide passage 40 of the cylinder 38 in the holding means 37, as shown in FIG. 6(A), with the floating surface 34 of the branch 16B facing the holding portion 46, the branch 16B is allowed to move freely up and down. In other words, because the gap (s) between the fixed wall 42 and the guide rib 35 causes slight wobble in the branch 16B, the holding portion 46 may come into contact with the floating surface 34, but it does not elastically hold the floating surface 34.

As described below, when the stopper portion 36 of the branch portion 16B is placed on the holding portion 46, the holding portion 46 is configured to support the weight of the wedge member 16 and to hold the branch portion 16B stationary. In other words, the elasticity of the elastic arm 45, which acts to hold the holding portion 46 at the spacing distance (w3), is configured to be greater than the downward load acting on the stopper portion 36 of the branch portion 16B due to the weight of the wedge member 16.

However, when a downward external force is applied to the wedge member 16 from a state in which the stopper portion 36 is placed on the holding portion 46 and the branch portion 16B is stationary, the stopper portion 37 is configured to push and displace the holding portion 46, passing through and moving it downward, as shown in FIG. 6(B). In other words, the stopper portion 36 receiving the downward external force pushes the holding portion 46 away using the upper inclined portion 46b as a guide, and the holding portion 46 retreats through the elastic deformation of the elastic arm 45. At this time, in the illustrated embodiment, the elastic arm 45 is capable of elastic deformation in a direction that moves the first arm 45a away from the support means 48 and in a direction that rotates the second arm 45b around the axis of the first arm 45a, but it is sufficient that the elastic deformation is configured to be capable of at least one of these.

(Relationship between the branch of the wedge member and the holding means)
As shown in Figures 7 to 9, the wedge member 16 is configured so that the legs 25 of the wedge main body 16A can be freely inserted into the upper and lower insertion holes 21, 22 relative to the upper and lower jaws 18, 19 of the connecting fitting 15, and the branch portion 16B is inserted into the upper and lower guide holes 28, 29 and the cylindrical body 38 of the retaining means 37, and a pull-out prevention means 32 is provided by the head of a rivet or the like inserted into the lower end of the branch portion 16B.

Regarding the vertical movement positions, the wedge member 16 has a retracted position (P0) (see FIG. 12) where the lower end 25e of the leg 25 is flush with the support surface 30 of the upper jaw 18, a standby position (P1) (see FIG. 7 and FIG. 9) where the lower end 25e protrudes downward from the support surface 30 by a distance (t), a fastening position (P2) (see FIG. 16) where it moves downward from the standby position and is fastened by being driven into the fastening hole 14 of the flange 13, and a dismantling position (P3) (see FIG. 18) where the anti-pullout means 43 abuts against the edge of the lower guide hole 29 and the lower end 25e moves above the support surface 30.

When the wedge member 16 is in the retracted position (P0), the lower floating surface 34b of the branch portion 16B faces the holding portion 46 of the holding means 37, and the stopper portion 36 is located above the holding portion 46.

When the wedge member 16 is in the standby position (P1), the stopper portion 36 of the branch portion 16B is placed on the holding portion 46 of the holding means 37, stationarying the wedge member 16. As shown in Figures 7 to 9, when in the standby position (P1), the thickness (T) of the flange 13 and the vertical width (H) of the receiving portion 20 are configured to be H>t, and the distance (t) that the lower end portion 25e projects downward is configured to be T>t.
At this time, the lower end portion 25e is resting at a position of a predetermined height (h) from the upper surface of the lower jaw portion 19. In the illustrated embodiment, the height (h) is approximately equal to the thickness (T) of the flange 13, and is configured so that T≦h, but it may also be configured so that h<T<h+t.

The guide portion 33 of the lower end 25e, which is formed by a conical or spherical surface, may be provided over the entire area of the lower end 25e included in the protruding distance (t), but in the illustrated embodiment, as shown in FIG. 9(B), the lower distance (g) and upper distance (e) that constitute the protruding distance (t) of the lower end (25e) are configured so that e<g, so that the guide portion 33 is formed in the area of the lower end 25e that is included in the lower distance (g), and the locking portion 49 is formed in the area of the upper distance (e).

As described below, with regard to the relative lateral movement between the connecting fitting 15 and the flange 13, the guide portion 33 constitutes a guide that abuts against the edge of the flange 13 and guides it in the direction of climbing up. In contrast, the locking portion 49 is configured to receive the edge of the flange 13 when it abuts against it, and lock it in place without being climbed up.

When the wedge member 16 is in the fastening position (P2), the stopper portion 36 of the branch portion 16B passes through the holding portion 46 of the holding means 37 and is lowered to a lower position, so that the upper free surface 34a of the branch portion 16B faces the holding portion 46.

When the wedge member 16 is in the dismantling position (P3), the stopper portion 36 of the branch portion 16B passes through the holding portion 46 of the holding means 37 and is raised to an upper position, with the lower floating surface 34b of the branch portion 16B facing the holding portion 46. When the wedge member 16 is moved upward from the fastening position (P2) to the dismantling position (P3), the stopper portion 36 pushes the holding portion 46 aside using the lower inclined portion 46b of the holding portion 46 as a guide, and moves upward by causing the holding portion 46 to retreat via elastic deformation of the elastic arm 45.

(Action)
The operation of the fastening device constructed as above will now be described.

(Preliminary process)
Prior to connecting the connecting fitting 15 to the flange 13, the wedge member 16 is positioned in a standby position (P1) as shown in Figures 7 and 8. In this state, the wedge member 16 is stationary due to its own weight, with the stopper portion 36 abutting against the retaining portion 46 while placed on it, and the lower end portion 25e of the leg portion 25 of the wedge main body portion 16A protrudes downward from the placement surface 30 by a distance (t).

(Placement process)
To perform the fastening operation, the connecting fitting 15 is moved laterally from a position facing the side of the flange 13 toward the flange 13, the flange 13 is inserted into the receiving portion 20, and the supporting surface 30 of the upper jaw portion 18 is placed on the flange 13, as shown in Figures 9 to 15.

Figure 9 shows the state when the opening of the receiving portion 20 between the upper and lower jaw portions 18, 19 is advanced toward the flange 13.

When the lower jaw 19 is held at a position slightly above a predetermined position relative to the flange 13 and advanced so as to abut against the edge of the flange 13, as shown in FIG. 9(A), the tip inclined portion 19b of the lower jaw 19 abuts against the edge of the flange 13 and slides, thereby controlling the posture of the lower jaw 19 in a direction such that the upper surface of the lower jaw 19 coincides with the lower surface of the flange 13, as shown by line L1. Therefore, when the lower jaw 19 is advanced while its posture is controlled so that the upper surface of the lower jaw 19 is positioned slightly lower than the lower surface of the flange 13, as shown by the dashed line, the guide portion 33 of the lower end 25e abuts against the edge of the flange 13.

Conversely, when the lower jaw 19 is held slightly below the specified position relative to the flange 13 and advanced, the lower end 25e of the wedge member 16 abuts against the edge of the flange 13, as shown in Figure 9 (B). As shown, when the locking portion 49 abuts against the edge of the flange 13, the flange 13 is prevented from entering the receiving portion 20, and when the worker senses this by touch and slightly lifts the connecting fitting 15, the guide portion 33 of the lower end 25e abuts against the edge of the flange 13.

As shown in Figures 10 and 11, the wedge member 16 positions the guide portion 33 of the lower end portion 25e in a position that prevents the edge of the flange 13 from entering the receiving portion 20, but the guide portion 33 moves forward while abutting the edge of the flange 13, and is guided in the direction of climbing over the edge.

As a result, as shown in Figures 12 and 13, the wedge member 16 moves from the standby position (P1) toward the retracted position (P0) while the guide portion 33 rides up on the edge of the flange 13 by contacting the edge, and can slide to a predetermined position with the mounting surface 30 placed on the upper surface of the flange 13. The upward movement of the wedge member 16 due to the guide portion 33 riding up is achieved by the lower floating surface 34b constituting the floating surface 34 moving upward smoothly without resistance from the holding portion 46, as described above.

Then, when the lower end 25e of the wedge member 16, which is positioned in the retracted position (P0), faces the fastening hole 14 of the flange 13, it descends under its own weight and stops and comes to rest again at the standby position (P1) where the stopper portion 36 abuts against the holding portion 46, as shown in Figures 14 and 15.

In this way, simply by moving the connecting fitting 15 towards the flange 13 and inserting the flange 13 into the receiving portion 20, the wedge member 16 automatically retracts from the standby position (P1) towards the retracted position (P0), allowing the flange 13 to be inserted smoothly. Moreover, as the mounting surface 30 of the upper jaw portion 18 slides on the upper surface of the flange 13, simply by moving the connecting fitting 15 to a specified position, the wedge member 16 automatically returns from the retracted position (P0) to the standby position (P1) again, and the lower end portion 25e is inserted into the fastening hole 14 of the flange 13.

In this case, if a locking portion 49 is provided at the lower end 25e as described above, the locking portion 49 will lock onto the upper edge of the fastening hole 14, preventing the mounting surface 30 from sliding away from the upper surface of the flange 13, thereby preventing the connecting fitting 15 from falling off the flange 13 while working at height.

(Binding process)
When the head 24 of the wedge member 16, which is stationary in the standby position (P1), is strongly pressed down by hitting it with a hammer or the like, it is moved down to the fastening position (P2) as shown in Figures 16 and 17, and a fastening state is formed.

At this time, the stopper portion 36 pushes the retaining portion 46, displacing it through the elastic deformation of the elastic arm 45, causing the branch portion 16B to pass through and move downward, and the retaining portion 46 returns to its original position by facing the upper floating surface 34a of the floating surface 34.

(Dismantling process)
When dismantling the constructed temporary scaffolding, in order to detach the connecting fitting 15 from the flange 13, as shown in Figures 18 and 19, when the lower end of the branch portion 16B protruding downward from the lower guide hole 29 is pushed up strongly by hitting it with a hammer or the like, the anti-pullout means 32 at the lower end moves up until it abuts against the edge of the lower guide hole 29, moving the wedge member 16 to the dismantling position (P3). This causes the lower end 25e of the wedge body portion 16A to be pulled out of the fastening hole 14 of the flange 13, making it possible to pull the connecting fitting 15 away from the flange 13.

In the illustrated embodiment, when the wedge member 16 moves upward from the fastening position (P2) to the disassembly position (P3), the stopper portion 36 displaces the retaining portion 46, passes through it, and then the retaining portion 46 returns to its original position by facing the lower floating surface 34b of the floating surface 34. Therefore, the wedge member 16 moves downward from the disassembly position (P3) by its own weight to a position where the stopper portion 36 is placed on the retaining portion 46, that is, the standby position (P1), where it is stopped, and the lower end portion 25e of the wedge member 16 is inserted again into the fastening hole 14 of the flange 13.

As a result, even during dismantling work, the connecting fitting 15 has the locking portion 49 at the lower end 25e locked to the upper edge of the fastening hole 14, preventing the mounting surface 30 from sliding along the upper surface of the flange 13.

Therefore, when pulling the connecting fitting 15 away from the flange 13, if the connecting fitting 15 is lifted up until the lower jaw portion 18 abuts against the underside of the flange 13, the lower end portion 25e will come out upward from the fastening hole 14, and then the connecting fitting 15 can be moved sideways from that state.

At this time, it is not necessary to release the entire lower end 25e above the fastening hole 14; at least the locking portion 49 needs to be released. Even if the guide portion 33 remains inserted in the fastening hole 14, as described above, the relative lateral movement between the connecting fitting 15 and the flange 13 causes the guide portion 33 to abut against and move up the edge of the fastening hole 14, thereby allowing the receiving portion 20 to be pulled away from the flange 13.

In this way, the wedge-equipped connecting fittings 15, 15 at both ends of the long connecting member 12 can be easily handled not only when connecting the connecting fittings 15 to the flange 13 during construction of the scaffolding, but also when pulling the connecting fittings 15 away from the flange 13 during dismantling of the scaffolding, and the risk of the connecting fittings 15 falling off the flange 13 during work can be avoided.

The illustrated embodiment above shows a holding means 37 having a pair of elastic arms 45, 45 and a pair of holding portions 46, 46, but the present invention does not necessarily require a pair, and the purpose can be achieved with only one elastic arm 45 and holding portion 46.
