Description
図1に示すように、本発明の第1実施形態に係る密封装置1は、ハウジング(フロントダッシュパネル)2と、ハウジング2に設けられた軸孔2A内に配置された回転軸(ステアリングシャフト)4との間の隙間を封止するステアリングダストシールである。密封装置1は環状の部品であって、図1においては、その左半分が示されている。図1において、符号Eはエンジンルーム側の空間を示し、Pは乗員車室側の空間を示す。したがって、図面の上下は、密封装置の使用状態の上下と逆である。
図6は本発明の第2実施形態に係る密封装置1を示す。図6以降の図面において、既に説明した構成要素を示すため、同一の符号が使用され、それらの構成要素については詳細には説明しない。
図7は本発明の第3実施形態に係る密封装置1を示す。
以上、本発明の実施形態を説明したが、上記の説明は本発明を限定するものではなく、本発明の技術的範囲において、構成要素の削除、追加、置換を含む様々な変形例が考えられる。

Claims (2)
- ハウジングと、前記ハウジングに設けられた軸孔内に配置されてエンジンルーム側から乗員車室側に延びる回転軸との間の隙間を封止する密封装置であって、
前記軸孔の内周面に取り付けられる環状の取付部と、
前記取付部の径方向内側に配置された内側環状部と、
前記内側環状部から延びて、前記回転軸の外周面に接触するシールリップと、
前記取付部と前記内側環状部とを接続するベロー部と、
前記ベロー部および前記内側環状部よりも前記乗員車室側に配置され、前記取付部に固定されており、前記取付部から径方向内側に広がり、前記回転軸が内部を通過する開口を有する樹脂または金属製の遮音環と、
前記内側環状部または前記ベロー部から前記遮音環に向けて突出し、前記遮音環に摺動可能に接触する先端部を有する円環状の遮音リップと
を備え、
前記遮音リップは、径方向外側に向けて斜めに突出し、
前記遮音環は、前記遮音リップの前記先端部が接触する円環部を有し、
前記軸孔の軸線上に投影した場合の前記円環部の外側部分と前記内側環状部との距離が、前記軸孔の軸線上に投影した場合の前記円環部の内側部分と前記内側環状部との距離よりも大きくなるように、前記遮音環の前記円環部は、前記軸孔の前記軸線方向に対して傾斜している
ことを特徴とする密封装置。 - 前記遮音リップの前記先端部が接触する前記遮音環の部分には、不規則な凹凸が形成されている
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の密封装置。
