Claims (4)
- 励起状態で光を放出する活性元素がコアに添加された増幅用光ファイバと、
前記増幅用光ファイバの一方側に配置される光ファイバのコアに形成され、前記活性元素が放出する光の少なくとも一部を反射する第1FBGと、
前記増幅用光ファイバの他方側に配置される光ファイバのコアに形成され、前記第1FBGが反射する光を前記第1FBGよりも低い反射率で反射する第2FBGと、
を備え、
前記第1FBGは前記第1FBGが形成されるコアの屈折率よりも高い屈折率を有する複数の高屈折率部が所定間隔で形成されて成り、前記第2FBGは前記第2FBGが形成されるコアの屈折率よりも高い屈折率を有する複数の高屈折率部が所定間隔で形成されて成り、
前記第1FBGが反射する基本モードの光の波長と前記第2FBGが反射する基本モードの光の波長は互いに一致し、前記第1FBGが反射する高次モードの光の波長と前記第2FBGが反射する高次モードの光の波長は互いに不一致とされるように、前記第1FBG及び前記第2FBGの少なくとも一方におけるそれぞれの前記高屈折率部において、コアの長手方向に垂直な断面での屈折率が不均一とされる

ことを特徴とする請求項2に記載のファイバレーザ装置。 - 前記第1FBGのそれぞれの前記高屈折率部において、コアの長手方向に垂直な断面での屈折率が均一とされ、
前記第2FBGのそれぞれの前記高屈折率部において、コアの長手方向に垂直な断面での屈折率が不均一とされる
ことを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載のファイバレーザ装置。
