Description
(構成)
第1の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサの構成を図1及び2を参照して詳細に説明する。電解コンデンサは、図1に示すコンデンサ素子1を電解液に含浸し、次いでコンデンサ素子1を外装ケースに収納し、封口体で封口し、最後に再化成処理をすることで製造される。
図2は、コンデンサ素子1に電解液を含浸させた状態を示し、軸芯との直交方向に切った一部断面図である。図2に示すように、陽極箔2は、巻回に対する反発力によってコンデンサ素子1の外周側に膨らんでいる。この反発力を受けて、陽極箔2の外周側に配置したセパレータ4は、陽極箔2によりコンデンサ素子1の外周側に押し遣られている。セパレータ4は、コンデンサ素子1の外周側で陰極箔3と隣接している。そのため、コンデンサ素子1の外周側に押し遣られたセパレータ4の外周側の面は陰極箔3を押圧することになる。
(構成)
第2の実施形態に係る電解コンデンサの構成を図3及び4を参照して詳細に説明する。図3に示すように、各セパレータ4、5は、添加剤層4a、5aを隣接する陽極箔2側の面に向けるようにして配置してもよい。すなわち、コンデンサ素子1の外周側で陽極箔2と隣接し、且つコンデンサ素子1の中心側で陰極箔3と隣接するセパレータ5に関しても、陰極箔3との対向面ではなく、陽極箔2との対向面に添加剤層5aを配置している。
図4は、コンデンサ素子1に電解液を含浸させた状態を示し、軸芯との直交方向に切った一部断面図である。このコンデンサ素子1によれば、巻回により陽極箔2の両面に添加剤層4a及び添加剤層5aが対向し、陽極箔2の両面に迅速且つ十分に添加剤を供給することができる。
以下、本発明の実施例について、図1及び2を参照して具体的に説明する。ポリビニルアルコールを片面に付着させたセパレータ4とセパレータ5を介して陽極箔2と陰極箔3を積層して巻回し、コンデンサ素子1を作製し、電解液を含浸させた後、外装ケースに挿入し、封口体で封止して、再化成処理を施し、電解コンデンサを製造した。コンデンサのサイズは、径が13.5mmで全長が40mmである。
ポリビニルアルコールの層を陰極箔に対向させるようにセパレータを配置した。つまり、セパレータは、陰極箔のコンデンサ素子1の外周側および中心側の両面ともセパレータのポリビニルアルコールの層が対向した状態で配置されており、陽極箔と隣接するセパレータの対向面にはポリビニルアルコール層が存在しない。ポリビニルアルコール層の配置構成が実施例と異なる他は、再化成時間も含めて実施例と同じ製造方法によりコンデンサ素子1を作製し、電解液を含浸させた後、外装ケースに挿入し、封口体で封止して、電解コンデンサを製造した。
実施例及び比較例の電解コンデンサをそれぞれ30個作製し、これら電解コンデンサに交流を加えて初期特性を測定した。初期特性は、tanδ、ESR、漏れ電流(LC)について測定した。tanδは、120Hzの交流を加えて測定し、ESRは、100Hz及び40kHzの交流を加えて各々測定した。下記表は、それぞれの初期特性の平均値である。
添加剤層4aは、セパレータ表面に均一に塗布してもよいが、添加剤層4aの表面を凹凸状にしてもよい。このようにすることによって、添加剤層4aと添加剤層4aと対向する電極箔との間に凹凸面によって電解液の含浸経路が確保されるため、よりポリビニルアルコールを溶解しやすくなる。凹凸状にする手段として、添加剤層の表面を凹凸状に形成してもよいし、添加剤層をドット状や線状等に塗布して添加剤層4aを間欠的に形成してもよい。また、セパレータの添加剤層4aの塗布面をあらかじめ凹凸状に形成し、その上にポリビニルアルコール等の添加剤を塗布することで、添加剤層4aの表面を凹凸状にしてもよい。

Claims (4)
- ポリビニルアルコール層を片面にのみ付着させたセパレータを介して、陽極箔と陰極箔とを重ね合わせて巻回したコンデンサ素子を用いるコンデンサであって、
前記セパレータのうちの少なくとも、前記陽極箔と前記コンデンサ素子の中心側の面で向かい合い、且つ前記陰極箔と前記コンデンサ素子の外周側の面で向かい合う前記セパレータについて、前記コンデンサ素子の中心側の面に前記ポリビニルアルコール層を形成したこと、
を特徴とするコンデンサ。 - 前記陰極箔と前記コンデンサ素子の中心側の面で向かい合い、且つ前記陽極箔と前記コンデンサ素子の外周側の面で向かい合う前記セパレータについて、前記コンデンサ素子の外周側の面に前記ポリビニルアルコール層を形成したこと、
を特徴とする請求項1記載のコンデンサ。 - 陽極箔と陰極箔とをセパレータを介して重ね合わせて巻回したコンデンサ素子を用いたコンデンサの製造方法であって、
前記セパレータの片面にポリビニルアルコール層を形成する工程と、
前記コンデンサ素子を形成した際に、前記陽極箔と前記コンデンサ素子の中心側の面で向かい合い、且つ前記陰極箔と前記コンデンサ素子の外周側の面で向かい合う前記セパレータについて、前記ポリビニルアルコール層を形成した面が前記コンデンサ素子の中心側に向くように、前記陰極箔と前記陽極箔との間に介在させて積層する工程と、
積層した前記陽極箔、陰極箔及びセパレータを巻回して前記コンデンサ素子を形成する工程と、
前記コンデンサ素子に電解液を含浸させる工程と、
を含むこと、
を特徴とするコンデンサの製造方法。 - 前記コンデンサ素子を形成した際に、前記陰極箔と前記コンデンサ素子の中心側の面で向かい合い、且つ前記陽極箔と前記コンデンサ素子の外周側の面で向かい合う前記セパレータについて、前記ポリビニルアルコール層を形成した面が前記コンデンサ素子の外周側に向くように、前記陰極箔と前記陽極箔との間に介在させて積層する工程を含むこと、
を特徴とする請求項3記載のコンデンサの製造方法。
