Description
以下のようにして、cBN焼結体工具を作製した。まず、平均粒子径1.2μmのWC粉末と、平均粒子径1.5μmのCo粉末と、平均粒子径2μmのAl粉末とを、質量比で、WC:Co:Al=40:50:10となるように混合し、真空中で1100℃にて30分間熱処理した化合物を、φ4mmの超硬合金製ボールを用いて粉砕し結合材を得た。
次いで、同結合材粉末と平均粒子径0.5μmのcBN粒子とを焼結後のcBNの割合が75体積%になるように配合し、混合し乾燥させた。
さらに、これらの粉末を超硬合金製支持板に積層してMo製カプセルに充填後、超高圧装置によって、圧力6.5GPa、温度1350℃で30分間焼結した。
そして、得られたcBN焼結体の熱伝導率をレーザーフラッシュ法により測定し、別の方法で算出されたcBN焼結体の比熱および密度に基づいて算出した結果、その熱伝導率は、50.5W/m・Kであった。
実施例1と同様の方法で、溝幅、溝深さ、すくい面のすくい角を変化させ、その他の仕様は実施例1と同じにした菱形ネガティブcBN刃先交換式チップ(表1に示す発明品2〜6)を作製した。表1の発明品1は実施例1で作製した工具である。
実施例1と同様の方法で、cBN粒子の平均粒子径を2μm、cBNの割合を80体積%にした菱形ネガティブcBN刃先交換式チップ(表2に示す発明品7)と、cBN粒子の平均粒子径を4μm、cBNの割合を90体積%にした菱形ネガティブcBN刃先交換式チップ(表2に示す発明品8)を作製した。これらの工具の他の仕様は発明品1と同じにした。発明品7の熱伝導率は70W/m・K、発明品8の熱伝導率は120W/m・Kであった。

Claims (2)
- 立方晶窒化硼素粒子と結合相で構成されるcBN焼結体(4)を少なくとも刃先に有す
る立方晶窒化硼素焼結体工具であって、始端が刃先稜線(8)上にあってその刃先稜線を
波打たせる複数の溝(6)がすくい面(5)に形成され、その溝(6)の終端が前記刃先
稜線(8)よりも内側にあり、
さらに、前記溝(6)の溝幅(W)が10〜100μm、溝深さ(d)が10〜50μmであって、その溝の溝幅(W)が刃先稜線(8)から離れるに従って狭くなり、かつ、前記刃先稜線(8)から離れるに従って溝深さ(d)が浅くなり、かつ、すくい面(5)が正のすくい角を有する立方晶窒化硼素焼結体工具。 - 前記cBN焼結体(4)に含まれるcBN粒子の平均粒径が2μm以下で、前記cBN
焼結体(4)の熱伝導率が70W/m・K以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の立方晶窒化硼素焼結体工具。
