Description
前記CeZr系酸化物は、CexZryO2(x+y=1)を満たし、
前記珪素は、0.02≦Si/Zr、且つ0.01<Si/(Ce+Zr+Si)≦0.1のモル比を満たす。
(1)アンモニウムイオン及び炭酸イオンの少なくとも1種が含まれる溶液Aとセリウムとジルコニウムを含む溶液Bを作製する工程、
(2)前記溶液Aと前記溶液Bを混合して混合溶液とする工程、
(3)前記混合溶液に酸素を含むガスを通気する工程、
(4)前記混合溶液中に炭酸が含まれていないときに、炭酸ガス又は炭酸塩を添加する工程、
(5)前記(3)の工程または前記(3)及び(4)の工程の後、珪素含有溶液を添加して、セリウム、ジルコニウム及び珪素が含まれた沈殿物を得る工程、
(6)該沈殿物を大気中で焼成し、セリウムとジルコニウムを含むCeZr系酸化物に珪素を被覆させる工程、
(7)珪素が被覆されたCeZr系酸化物に、触媒活性金属を被覆する工程、
(8)珪素と触媒活性金属が被覆されたCeZr系酸化物を、還元雰囲気中において、20〜600℃で調整する工程、
を有する。
炭化水素又はアルコールと、酸素とを含む原料ガスを、上述の触媒と接触させて水素含有ガスを発生させる方法であって、
前記触媒を還元雰囲気中で20〜600℃で調整し、前記原料ガス中の酸素に接触させ、前記触媒の自己発熱により、前記原料ガス中に含まれる炭化水素又はアルコールと、酸素との燃焼反応が生じる温度まで前記原料ガスを昇温させ、前記原料ガス中に含まれる炭化水素又はアルコールを燃焼させる昇温工程、
前記昇温工程で高温になった前記触媒にて前記原料ガスを改質する工程、
を有する。
上記前駆体において、セリウムとジルコニウムは、CexZryO2であるCeZr系酸化物として含まれ、構成する元素の割合は、Ce、Zrのモル比をCe:Zr=x:yとするとき、x+y=1.0を満たすようにする。Zrは、Zr/(Ce+Zr)が0.50以上、即ちZrのモル比yが0.50以上であることが好ましい。
上記前駆体の表面には、炭化水素の酸化的改質の触媒活性成分として用いる触媒活性金属が担持させられる。これらの触媒活性金属原料を溶媒中に溶解させ、上記前駆体を溶媒中に投入し、溶媒を蒸発させることで、上記前駆体に触媒活性金属を担持させる。なお、本明細書中で「被覆」と「担持」は同様の趣旨を示すものとして用いる。したがって、上記前駆体の表面に活性金属が存在していない部分があっても「被覆された状態」といってよい。
触媒活性金属を担持させた上記前駆体を、還元活性化処理して、酸素欠損サイトを作ることで、本発明の触媒となる。
(溶液B)
4%に調整された硝酸750gに、Ce源として、硝酸セリウム六水和物(Ce(NO3)3・6H2O)125gと、Zr源として、酢酸ジルコニウム(純度34.0%)77.3gを溶解した後、窒素でバブリングすることで、溶液中の溶存酸素を除き、溶液Bを作製した。
TEOS(オルトケイ酸テトラエチル:Si(OC2H5)4)5.0gを純水45.0gに添加して攪拌し珪素含有溶液を作製した。
Si源を添加せずに、Zr/(Ce+Zr)が0.50となるように表1の割合となるように配合して調整したこと以外は、実施例1と同様の操作によって本例の触媒を得た。
Zr/(Ce+Zr)を0.12としたこと以外は、比較例1と同様の操作によって本例の触媒を得た。上記の実施例1〜4と比較例1、2をNi担持触媒とよび、実施例5、6をRh担持触媒とよぶ。
得られた触媒粉末を、XPS(X−ray photoelectron spectroscopy:X線光電子分光)装置およびICP発光分析装置により測定した結果を表1に、また実施例5、6は表3にICP発光分析装置のデータのみ示す。ICP発光分析装置の測定結果はほぼ仕込み時の組成比率と合致した。これらの結果は狙い通りの組成比でCeZr系酸化物にSiが担持されていることを示している。
得られた触媒粉末の、Ni担持前後の比表面積と、触媒粒子の結晶子径Dx(nm)を表2に示す。また、Rh担持前後の比表面積と、触媒粒子の結晶子径Dx(nm)を表3に示す。なお、比表面積測定はBET法によって測定した。Siが含有されていない比較例と比べると、実施例の比表面積はいずれも高い値となっている。また、比表面積は、Si含有量が多いほど増加し、Siを10%含有している実施例4、6は、Ni担持後の比表面積が65.6m2/g、Rh担持後の比表面積が62.8m2/gである。
酸素吸蔵量は、酸素欠陥サイトの量を示している。この値が大きければ、酸素の吸蔵可能量が多くなり、酸化熱の増大が期待できる。
固定床流通式の反応装置を用いて、酸素含有ガスを流通すれば、酸化熱により発熱して、触媒活性金属成分が活性を持ち作動可能になると認められる程度の酸素欠陥を生じさせることのできる温度(以後は最低還元温度と呼ぶ)を表4と表5に示す。最低還元温度で1時間水素還元処理を行った後、Arでパージした後、断熱条件下、常温25℃にて、0.1gの触媒を用い、反応ガスはn−C4H10/O2/N2/Ar=1/2/1/7の反応ガスを使用し、空間速度122L/h・gで常温駆動した改質反応を5回繰り返して行った。繰り返し反応後の、炭素沈着量の測定結果を表4、表5に示す。なお、炭素沈着量は、反応ガス5回流通時に発生する触媒重量全体に対する触媒への炭素吸着量の比率(質量%)で得られる。
以下の反応は、常圧固定床流通式反応装置を用いて行った。外径9.9mm内径7mmで内側に不活性処理をした金属反応管に触媒を0.2g充填し、純H2(20ml/分、0.1MPa)を流通しながら100〜500℃まで昇温(10℃/分)し、その温度で1時間保持することにより還元活性化処理を行った。そして、流通ガスをAr(50ml/分)に切り替え、触媒層に水蒸気を安定に供給できる100℃まで冷却した。

Claims (13)
- CeZr系酸化物と、珪素と、触媒活性金属とからなる触媒であって、
前記CeZr系酸化物は、CexZryO2(x+y=1)を満たし、
前記珪素は、0.02≦Si/Zr、且つ0.01<Si/(Ce+Zr+Si)≦0.1のモル比を満たす、ことを特徴とする水素発生用触媒。 - 前記触媒活性金属は、白金系元素、ニッケル、コバルトのうちから選択される少なくとも1種である、請求項1に記載の水素発生用触媒。
- 前記珪素は、前記CeZr系酸化物の表面に偏在している、請求項1又は2に記載の水素発生用触媒。
- (1)アンモニウムイオン及び炭酸イオンの少なくとも1種が含まれる溶液Aとセリウムとジルコニウムを含む溶液Bを作製する工程、
(2)前記溶液Aと前記溶液Bを混合して混合溶液とする工程、
(3)前記混合溶液に酸素を含むガスを通気する工程、
(4)前記混合溶液中に炭酸が含まれていないときに、炭酸ガス又は炭酸塩を添加する工程、
(5)前記(3)の工程または前記(3)及び(4)の工程の後、珪素含有溶液を添加して、セリウム、ジルコニウム及び珪素が含まれた沈殿物を得る工程、
(6)該沈殿物を大気中で焼成し、セリウムとジルコニウムを含むCeZr系酸化物に珪素を被覆させる工程、
(7)珪素が被覆されたCeZr系酸化物に、触媒活性金属を被覆する工程、
(8)珪素と触媒活性金属が被覆されたCeZr系酸化物を、還元雰囲気中において、20〜600℃で調整する工程、
を有することを特徴とする水素発生用触媒の製造方法。 - 前記溶液Aはアンモニア水である、請求項4に記載の水素発生用触媒の製造方法。

- 前記触媒活性金属がニッケル、コバルト及び白金族元素からなる群より選ばれた少なくとも1種である、請求項4〜6のいずれか1つの項に記載の水素発生用触媒の製造方法。
- 炭化水素又はアルコールと、酸素とを含む原料ガスを、請求項1〜3のいずれか1つの請求項に記載の水素発生用触媒と接触させて水素含有ガスを発生させる方法であって、
前記触媒を還元雰囲気中で20〜600℃で調整し、前記原料ガス中の酸素に接触させ、前記触媒の自己発熱により、前記原料ガス中に含まれる炭化水素又はアルコールと、酸素との燃焼反応が生じる温度まで前記原料ガスを昇温させ、前記原料ガス中に含まれる炭化水素又はアルコールを燃焼させる昇温工程と、
前記昇温工程で高温になった前記触媒にて前記原料ガスを改質する工程、
を有する水素含有ガスの製造方法。 - 前記水素発生用触媒を還元雰囲気中で20〜200℃で調整する、請求項8に記載の水素含有ガスの製造方法。
- 炭化水素又はアルコールを供給する機構と、酸素を供給する機構とを備え、これらの機構が接続された容器に、請求項1〜3のいずれか1つの項に記載の水素発生用触媒を配設した改質器を備えた水素発生装置。
- 前記改質器に接続され、排出されるガスから水素を分離する機構を備える、請求項10に記載の水素発生装置。
- 請求項10又は11に記載の水素発生装置が組み込まれた燃料電池システム。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか1つの項に記載の水素発生用触媒に用いられる珪素担持CeZr系酸化物であって、
前記CeZr系酸化物は、CexZryO2(x+y=1)を満たし、
前記珪素は、0.02≦Si/Zr、且つ0.01<Si/(Ce+Zr+Si)≦0.1のモル比を満たす、ことを特徴とする珪素担持CeZr系酸化物。
