Description
除去可能なコーティングを熱可塑性物、例えば自動車用のカップホルダに塗布することができる。本実施例において、射出成型によりポリプロピレンからカップホルダを製造し、カップホルダは約160℃の融点を有する。
除去可能なコーティングを、ポリカーボネートで構成されている自動車の部品、例えば計器パネルカバーに塗布することができる。任意の保護箔(単数もしくは複数)または保護フィルム(単数もしくは複数)の除去後に、ポリカーボネート成分をアセトンで取り除くことができる。実施例1で説明したように、ケイ素アルコキシ連結を含有する超分子ポリマーをその融点に加熱することができ、低粘度溶液としてポリカーボネート部品の外面に5μm〜30μmの厚さに塗布して室温に冷却することができる。溶液が冷えると溶液が固化して超分子ポリマー界面層が形成される。
上述したように、被覆熱可塑性物品、例えば自動車のカップホルダは、下層の熱可塑性物の表面とコーティングとの間に配置された超分子ポリマー界面層を有することができる。超分子ポリマー界面層を加熱し且つ機械的力を印加することにより、自動車のカップホルダからコーティングを除去することができる。対流、伝導または放射により、超分子ポリマー界面層を、超分子ポリマー界面層の融点(第1の融点)以上であるが熱可塑性物の融点(第2の融点)未満であるコーティング除去温度(「第3の温度」)に加熱することができる。例えば被覆物品をオーブン、加熱炉または加熱した液体/気体の容器内に置くことにより、被覆物品全体に熱を印加することができる。また、加熱したローラ、プレートまたはモールドを押し当てることにより、熱をコーティング層に印加することができる。
本実施例において、被覆物品、例えば自動車の計器制御パネルカバーの超分子ポリマー界面層は、Zn(NTf2)2を介して連結される2,6−ビス(1’−メチルベンゾイミダゾリル)ピリジン(Mebip)末端基を有する官能性モノマーを含む。また、官能性モノマーは、柔軟なリンカー、例えば炭化水素鎖を介して末端基に繋がるケイ素アルコキシ基の鎖も含む。コーティング層は上述した任意の透明なシリカ含有コーティングであることができる。
