Claims (2)
- 排気管の途中に排気ガス中のパティキュレートを捕集するパティキュレートフィルタを第一のケーシングにより抱持して備えると共に、前記パティキュレートフィルタの下流側に酸素共存下でも選択的にNOxをアンモニアと反応させ得る選択還元型触媒を第二のケーシングにより抱持して備え、第一及び第二の両ケーシングの間を接続する連絡流路の上流側に還元剤を添加し得るように構成した排気浄化装置であって、第一のケーシングと第二のケーシングとを並列に配置し且つその並列配置により第一のケーシングの出側端部と第二のケーシングの入側端部とを近接させて相互間をU字状の連絡流路により接続すると共に、第一のケーシングの出側端部におけるガス出口をパティキュレートフィルタの軸心に対し偏心させて第二のケーシングから最も離間する位置に配置し且つ第二のケーシングの入側端部におけるガス入口を選択還元型触媒の軸心に対し偏心させて第一のケーシングから最も離間する位置に配置し、これらガス出口とガス入口との間を前記連絡流路で接続したことを特徴とする排気浄化装置。
- 第一のケーシング内におけるガス出口付近に、該ガス出口の偏心による排気ガスの流れの偏りを是正する排気誘導手段を備えると共に、第二のケーシング内におけるガス入口付近に、該ガス入口の偏心による排気ガスの流れの偏りを是正する排気分散手段を備えたことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の排気浄化装置。
