Description
この両面塗工装置1では、第1塗工装置5a及び第2塗工装置5bに、いずれも同じ塗工装置(包括的に塗工装置5ともいう)が用いられている。塗工装置5は、小径グラビアロール10や塗料供給装置30などで構成されている。塗工装置1の詳細を、第2塗工装置5bを例にして図4〜図6に示す。
小径グラビアロール10は、基材Sの幅よりも長い円柱状の部材であり、不図示の支持部材に回転自在に支持されている。小径グラビアロール10は、基材Sの走行に連動した回転速度で、回転軸Jを中心に、所定の回転方向に回転するように制御されている。
塗料供給装置30には、ケース31、ドクターブレード32、シールブレード33などが備えられている。塗料供給装置30は、外観が細長い角柱形状をしており、小径グラビアロール10に沿って延びるように、小径グラビアロール10に隣接して配置されている。
図1に示したように、この両面塗工装置1では、両面が塗装された基材Sは、乾燥ゾーン1bにおいて、直ちにフローティングドライヤー7に導入されて乾燥処理が行われる。
本発明にかかる両面塗工装置1は、上述した実施形態に限定されず、それ以外の種々の構成をも包含する。

Claims (2)
- 走行するシート状の基材の両面に連続的に塗装する両面塗工装置であって、
前記基材が鉛直方向を上向きに走行するように支持誘導する第1ガイドロールと、
前記第1ガイドロールの下流側において、当該第1ガイドロールと前記基材の同じ面側に位置し、前記基材が巻き掛けられて当該基材に張力を生じた状態で、その走行方向を誘導する第2ガイドロールと、
前記第2ガイドロールの上流側に配置され、当該第2ガイドロールが接しない面を塗装する第1塗工装置と、
前記第2ガイドロールの下流側に配置され、当該第2ガイドロールが接する面を塗装する第2塗工装置と、
両面が塗装された前記基材を乾燥するフローティングドライヤーと、
を備え、
前記第1塗工装置及び第2塗工装置の各々は、
外径が45mm〜150mmの範囲内にあり、浮遊状態で走行する前記基材に接する塗布部を外周面に有する円柱状の小径グラビアロールと、
前記小径グラビアロールに沿って延びるように配置され、前記塗布部に塗料を供給する横置き可能な密閉型の塗料供給装置と、
を有するグラビアキス塗工装置からなり、
少なくとも前記第2塗工装置の前記塗料供給装置は、横置きされた場合に、前記小径グラビアロールの回転軸の方向から見て、当該塗料供給装置の最上端が、前記小径グラビアロールの上端に接する接線よりも下方に位置するように構成され、
前記第1塗工装置及び前記第2塗工装置の双方が、横置きされた状態で前記第2ガイドロールに隣接し、
前記第2ガイドロールによって前記基材を鉛直方向から水平方向に誘導することにより、前記第1塗工装置で鉛直方向を走行する前記基材を側方から塗装し、前記第2塗工装置で水平方向を走行する前記基材を下方から塗装する両面塗工装置。 - 請求項1に記載の両面塗工装置において、
前記基材は、幅方向の両端に塗装されない無塗装領域を有し、
前記第2塗工装置と前記フローティングドライヤーとの間に、走行する前記無塗装領域を挟持する端部支持装置を更に備える両面塗工装置。
