Description

本発明は、概して、空隙によって離隔される2つの層間又は構成要素間での光損失又は望ましくない光結合を防止するための低屈折率の光学フィルムを含む光学構造物及びディスプレイシステムに関する。
このような場合、光学フィルムの実効屈折率neffを、次のように表すことができる。
ある場合(孔の屈折率と結合剤の屈折率との差異が十分に小さい場合など)には、光学フィルムの実効屈折率を、次の式で近似できる。
このような場合、光学フィルムの実効屈折率は、ボイド及び結合剤の屈折率の体積加重平均である。例えば、約50%のボイド体積分率を有する光学フィルム及び約1.5の屈折率を有する結合剤は、約1.25の実効屈折率を有する。
Claims (3)
- 空隙によって離隔されつつ、互いに対向する第1の主表面及び第2の主表面を備える光学構造物であって、
前記第1の主表面及び前記第2の主表面は、前記空隙内の第1の位置において互いに物理的に接触し易く、
前記光学構造物は、前記第1の主表面及び前記第2の主表面が前記第1の位置において互いに接触するのを防止するために、前記第1の主表面から離隔するように前記第1の位置にて前記第2の主表面の上に配置された光学フィルムを備え、
前記光学フィルムは、
1.3以下の実効屈折率を有するとともに、
結合剤、複数の粒子、および複数の相互に連結されたボイドを含む、光学構造物。 - 第1の光学層と、
第2の光学層、および、前記第1の光学層から離隔するように前記第2の光学層の上に配置され、1.3以下の実効屈折率を有するとともに、結合剤、複数の粒子、および複数の相互に連結されたボイドを含む光学フィルムを有する、光学構造物と、
前記第1の光学層と前記光学構造物との間に配置された空隙と、を備え、
前記第1の光学層と前記光学フィルムとが物理的に接触しても、前記第1の光学層と前記第2の光学層との間で光結合が発生せず、
前記光学構造物の前記光学フィルムと前記第2の光学層の2つの隣接する主表面の少なくとも50%は、互いに物理的に接触する、光学アセンブリ。 - 光ガイドと、
前記光ガイドの縁部に沿って配置された1つ以上のランプと、
前記光ガイドが物体と物理的に接触したときの光損失を防止するために、前記物体から離隔するように前記光ガイドの少なくとも一部の上に配置された光学フィルムと、を備え、
前記光学フィルムは、
1マイクロメートル以上の厚さ、及び1.3以下の実効屈折率を有するとともに、
第1の媒質中に分散された複数の粒子および複数のボイドを含む、光源。
