Description

本発明は、紫外線硬化型導波路材料の積層方法及び装置、特に積層プロセスと紫外線照射プロセスとを同時に行うことのできる紫外線硬化型導波路材料の積層方法及び装置に関する。
従来、紫外線硬化型の導波路材料を積層する場合、積層プロセスを行った後に紫外線照射プロセスを行っていた。このため、積層プロセスと紫外線照射プロセスという２つの独立したプロセスを実行することが必要となり、その分タクトタイム・コストがかかることとなる。また、積層プロセスの後、樹脂材料は未硬化のため、変形や剥離などの問題が懸念される。
従来の紫外線硬化型の導波路材料を積層する方法の一例として、光導波路を製造する場合について、図１〜４を参照して説明する。
まず、図１（ａ）において、ベース板１１に第１光導波路材料１２を積層する。ベース板１１は薄い平板状であって、例えば、アクリル系の樹脂板、ポリカーボネート板等の樹脂板、或いは金属板を使用している。第１光導波路材料１２としては、典型的には、紫外線硬化型エポキシ系樹脂材料、或いはアクリル系、フッ素ポリイミド系、シリコーン系等の紫外線硬化型のその他の材料を使用している。
図２（ａ）、（ｂ）は、真空引きによりベース板１１に第１光導波路材料１２を積層する図１（ａ）の工程を遂行する方法及び装置を示す。積層される材料、即ちベース板１１はラミネートフィルム２１（筐体２１ａ）側に固定され、このベース板１１と未硬化の第１光導波路材料１２とをこれらの２枚のラミネートフィルム２１、２２により挟み、２枚のラミネートフィルム２１、２２間を減圧、真空引きし（矢印Ａ）、その後、第１光導波路材料１２側のラミネートフィルム２２の外側から、エアーによる均一な荷重を掛ける（矢印Ｂ）。このような積層工程により、積層されたベース板１１に第１光導波路材料１２を図１（ｂ）に示す。
次に、図１（ｃ）において、第１光導波路材料１２に紫外線を照射し（矢印Ｃ）、第１光導波路材料１２を硬化させる。紫外線を照射して硬化させる場合だけでなく、熱硬化によって第１光導波路材料１２を硬化させる場合もある。
次に、図１（ｄ）において、ベース板１１に第１光導波路材料１２を積層し、硬化させた第１光導波路材料１２上に、更に、第２光導波路材料１３を積層する。
図３（ａ）、（ｂ）は、真空引きにより第１光導波路材料１２上に第２光導波路材料１３を積層する図１（ｄ）に示す工程を遂行する方法及び装置を示す。ベース板１１と硬化した第１光導波路材料１２との積層体と、未硬化の第２光導波路材料１３を２枚のラミネートフィルム２３、２４により挟み、２枚のラミネートフィルム２３、２４の間を減圧、真空引きし（矢印Ａ）、その後、第２光導波路材料１３側のラミネートフィルム２４の外側から、エアーによる均一な荷重を掛ける（矢印Ｂ）。このような積層工程により、ベース板１１と硬化した第１光導波路材料１２との積層体と、未硬化の第２光導波路材料１３を積層する。このような、ベース板１１、第１光導波路材料１２、第２光導波路材料１３の積層体を図１（ｅ）に示す。
次に、図１（ｆ）において、第２光導波路材料１３をマスク１５を用いた周知の方法で露光しパターニングする。露光パターニングされた積層体を図１（ｇ）に示す。図１（ｈ）においては、第２光導波路材料１３を現像し、パターニングを完了させる。
次に、図１（ｉ）において、第２光導波路材料１３上に第３光導波路材料１４を積層する。なお、第３光導波路材料１４の材質は、第１光導波路材料１２と同じである。
図４（ａ）、（ｂ）は、真空引きにより第３光導波路材料１４を第２光導波路材料１３に積層する図１（ｉ）に示す工程を遂行する方法及び装置を示す。ベース板１１、硬化した第１光導波路材料１２、未硬化の第２光導波路材料１３の積層体と、第３光導波路材料１４とを、２枚のラミネートフィルム２５、２６により挟み、２枚のラミネートフィルム２５、２６の間を減圧、真空引きし（矢印Ａ）、その後、第３光導波路材料１４側のラミネートフィルム２６の外側から、エアーによる均一な荷重を掛ける（矢印Ｂ）。
図１（ｊ）は、このような積層工程により作製した、ベース板１１、第１光導波路材料１２、第２光導波路材料１３及び第３光導波路材料１４の積層体を示す。
次に、図１（ｋ）において、第３光導波路材料１４に紫外線を照射し、この第３光導波路材料１４を硬化させる。紫外線を照射して硬化させる場合だけでなく、熱硬化によって第３光導波路材料１４を硬化させる場合もある。
以上のように、従来の紫外線硬化型導波路材料の積層方法によると、積層プロセスを行った後に紫外線照射工程を行っていた。また、積層プロセスでは、ラミネートフィルムを用い、積層する材料（未硬化）と積層される材料（通常は硬化済み）とを挟み込み、真空引きした後、エアーによって均一に加圧する方法をとっていた。したがって、凹凸のある材料に対して積層する場合、プレスによる積層では、積層面に気泡が混入するといった問題が発生するが、この従来の真空加圧による積層方法では、この問題が回避できる。
関連する先行技術として、特開平７−２１８９２１号公報（特許文献１）があるが、これによると、液晶パネルを製造する場合に、大気中で接合させた一対の基板を真空中の放置し、真空中の放置されたその両側より加圧する、という液晶パネルの製造方法が開示されている。
特開平８−２０１７４７号公報（特許文献２）では、１枚のガラス基板に複数のガラス基板を貼り合わせる場合に、１枚のガラス基板と複数のガラス基板とを間隔保持材含有の紫外線硬化樹脂を介在させてそれぞれ重ね合わせ、小さい方のガラス基板のそれぞれの外周位置に密閉室を画成し、複数の密閉室内をそれぞれ減圧してガラス基板同士を大気中をもって加圧し、その後紫外線硬化樹脂に紫外線を照射して紫外線硬化樹脂を硬化させる、という液晶パネルの製造方法が開示されている。
また、特開平１１−２９３２０２号公報（特許文献３）では、貼り合わせの際の２枚の基板のアライメントや紫外線照射や基板の均一な加圧接合などの必要機能を満足する貼り合わせを課題とするもので、真空排気装置と加圧空気供給装置とを切り替えることで、２枚の基板同士の均一な加圧接合を行うと共に、紫外線が紫外線透過板、上側基板を透過して上側基板と下側基板との間のシール部材に照射され、シール中の紫外線硬化樹脂が硬化される。
図１〜４において説明した従来の紫外線硬化型導波路材料の積層方法によると、基板の積層工程を遂行した後に、紫外線照射工程を遂行しなければならないため、基板の積層プロセスと紫外線照射プロセスという２つの独立したプロセスを実行することが必要となり、その分タクトタイム・コストがかかることとなる。また、積層プロセスの後、樹脂材料は未硬化のため、変形や剥離などの問題が懸念される。
特許文献１に開示されている液晶パネルの製造方法では、一対の基板の真空引と、エアーによる均一加圧とを組合せた基板の積層方法を示唆しているものの、液晶パネルの製造工程について適用されるものであって、紫外線硬化型導波路材料を積層する場合に適用されるものでもなく、また、紫外線照射プロセスについて開示しているものでもない。
特許文献２に開示されている液晶パネルの製造方法では、１枚のガラス基板と複数のガラス基板とを貼り合わせて、紫外線硬化樹脂を硬化させる場合において、上述の従来技術と同様、基板の積層工程を遂行した後に、紫外線照射工程を遂行しなければならないため、基板の積層プロセスと紫外線照射プロセスという２つの独立したプロセスを実行することが必要となり、その分タクトタイム・コストがかかることとなる。
また、特許文献３に開示されている液晶パネルの製造方法においても、基板の積層を行う場合に真空引きとエアーによる加圧との２つの方式を用いて、基板の均一な加圧接合を行うものの、紫外線硬化はその後の工程となるため、上述の従来技術と同様、基板の積層工程を遂行した後に、紫外線照射工程を遂行しなければならないため、基板の積層プロセスと紫外線照射プロセスという２つの独立したプロセスを実行することが必要となり、その分タクトタイム・コストがかかることとなる。
そこで、本発明では、少なくとも２枚の紫外線硬化型導波路材料を相互に積層し、且つこれらの２枚の紫外線硬化型導波路材料の少なくとも一方に紫外線照射して硬化せる場合において、材料の積層プロセスと紫外線照射プロセスという２つの独立したプロセスを実行する必要がなく、その分のタクトタイム・コストの減少をはかり、且つ積層と紫外線照射による硬化を同一のプロセスで行うことによる、積層後の樹脂等による材料の変形や剥離を防止することのできる紫外線硬化型導波路材料の積層方法及び装置を提供することを課題とする。
上記の課題を達成するために、本発明によれば、ベース板と紫外線硬化型の樹脂材料とを１対のフィルム間に挟み、該１対のフィルム間を減圧又はフィルムに外圧を適用して、前記樹脂材料を前記ベース板に積層すると同時に、紫外線を前記フィルムを介して前記樹脂材料に照射し、該樹脂材料を硬化することを特徴とする紫外線硬化型樹脂材料の積層方法が提供される。
また、本発明によれば、ベース板に第１光導波路材料を加圧により積層すると同時に、紫外線を該第１光導波路材料に照射して該第１光導波路材料を硬化させる工程と、前記第１光導波路材料に前記第２光導波路材料を加圧により積層すると同時に、マスクを介して該第２光導波路材料に紫外線を照射して露光・現像によるパターニングを行う工程と、 前記第２光導波路材料に第３光導波路材料を加圧により積層すると同時に、該第３光導波路材料に紫外線を照射して第３光導波路材料を硬化させる工程とを含むことを特徴とする紫外線硬化型導波路材料の積層方法が提供される。
この場合において、前記第１、第２、第３光導波路材料はいずれも紫外線硬化型の樹脂材料であり、且つ前記第１、第３光導波路材料は同一素材からなり、前記第２光導波路材料と前記第１、第３光導波路材料とは少なくとも屈折率成分が異なることを特徴とする。
また、本発明によれば、ベース板と外線硬化型の樹脂材料とを１対のフィルム間に挟み、該１対のフィルム間を減圧又はフィルムに外圧を適用して、前記紫外線硬化型樹脂材料を前記ベース板に積層する装置と、紫外線を前記フィルムを介して前記樹脂材料に照射する照射装置とを具備し、前記積層装置によって積層工程を遂行している間に前記照射装置による紫外線照射を遂行するべく、積層装置の一部を紫外線透過可能な耐圧ガラスで構成したことを特徴とする紫外線硬化型樹脂材料の積層装置が提供される。この場合において、前記紫外線硬化型樹脂材料は、紫外線硬化型樹脂からなる導波路材料であることを特徴とする。
本発明によれば、材料の積層プロセスと紫外線照射プロセスという２つの独立したプロセスを１つの工程を処理する中で行うことができるので、その分のタクトタイム・コストの減少をはかることができる。また、積層と紫外線照射による硬化を同一のプロセスで行うことにより、積層後の樹脂等による材料の変形や剥離を防止することができる。
以下、添付図面を参照して本発明の実施形態を詳細に説明する。
図５（ａ）〜（ｇ）及び図６〜図８は本発明の紫外線硬化型導波路材料の積層方法及び装置の第１実施形態を示す。
まず、図５（ａ）において、積層される材料である、紫外線透過タイプのベース板３１の一方の面（下面）に第１光導波路材料３２を積層しながら、同時に、ベース板３１を介して第１光導波路材料３２に紫外線の照射を行って、第１光導波路材料３２を硬化する。
ベース板３１は薄い平板状であって、例えば、アクリル系の樹脂板、ポリカーボネート板等の樹脂板、或いは金属板を使用する点は従来と同様である。また、第１光導波路材料３２としては、典型的には、紫外線硬化型エポキシ系樹脂材料、或いはアクリル系、フッ素ポリイミド系、シリコーン系等の紫外線硬化型のその他の材料を使用できる点も従来と同様である。
図６（ａ）、（ｂ）は、本発明の第１実施形態による、ベース板３１への第１光導波路材料３２の積層工程と、ベース板３１を介して第１光導波路材料３２に紫外線を照射して第１光導波路材料３２を硬化する工程を同時に遂行する図５（ａ）の方法及び装置を示す。積層される材料、即ちベース板３１は上部ラミネートフィルム４１（上部筐体４１ａ）側に固定され、このベース板３１と未硬化の第１光導波路材料３２とをこれらの２枚のラミネートフィルム４１、４２により挟み、２枚のラミネートフィルム４１、４２の間を減圧、真空引きし（矢印Ａ）、その後、下部筐体４２ａの加圧開口４２ｃから加圧空気を筐体内へ適用し、第１光導波路材料３２側のラミネートフィルム４２の外側（下側）から、エアーによる均一な荷重を掛ける（矢印Ｂ）。なお、矢印Ａ方向への真空引きの際は、下部筐体４２ａの加圧用開口４２ｃは閉じており、上部筐体４１ａの吸引口４１ｃは開いている。一方、矢印Ｂ方向の加圧エアー適用の際は、下部筐体４２ａの加圧用開口４２ｃは開いており、上部筐体４１ａの吸引口４１ｃは閉じている。
これらの場合において、本発明の実施形態では、２枚のラミネートフィルム４１、４２はいずれも紫外線透過タイプのものとする。また、上部筐体４１ａは、紫外線を透過することの可能な耐圧ガラスの窓部４１ｂを有している。窓部４１ｂはベース板３１或いは第１光導波路材料３２の面積よりやや大きい程度の面積を有し、窓部４１ｂを介して上部から照射された紫外線は更に上部ラミネートフィルム４１を介して第１光導波路材料３２に照射される。このような積層工程によりベース板３１に第１光導波路材料３２が積層され、且つ紫外線照射工程により硬化された第１光導波路材料３２を図５（ｂ）に示す。
次に、ベース板３１と第１光導波路材料３２との積層体４１を矢印Ｄのように上下反転させる。
次に、図５（ｃ）において、ベース板３１と第１光導波路材料３２との積層体４１に第２光導波路材料３３を積層する、と同時に、マスク３５を用いて第２光導波路材料３３に紫外線を照射して（矢印Ｃ）第２光導波路材料３３を硬化させる。したがって、図５（ｄ）に示すように、マスク３５の開口部３５ａを透過した紫外線により第２光導波路材料３３の露光部分３３ａ及び未露光部分３３ｂが生ずる。
図７（ａ）、（ｂ）は、本発明の第１実施形態による、ベース板３１と第１光導波路材料３２との積層体に第２光導波路材料３３を積層する工程と、第２光導波路材料３３に紫外線を照射して第２光導波路材料３３を硬化する工程を同時に遂行する図５（ｃ）の方法及び装置を示す。積層される材料、即ちベース板３１と第１光導波路材料３２との積層体は下部ラミネートフィルム４２側に固定され、この積層体と未硬化の第２光導波路材料３３とをこれらの２枚のラミネートフィルム４１、４２により挟み、２枚のラミネートフィルム４１、４２の間を減圧、真空引きし（矢印Ａ）、その後、下部筐体４２ａの加圧開口４２ｃから加圧空気を筐体内へ適用し、第１光導波路材料３２側のラミネートフィルム４２の外側（下側）から、エアーによる均一な荷重を掛ける（矢印Ｂ）。なお、図６の場合と同様、矢印Ａ方向への真空引きの際は、下部筐体４２ａの加圧用開口４２ｃは閉じており、上部筐体４１ａの吸引口４１ｃは開いている。一方、矢印Ｂ方向の加圧エアー適用の際は、下部筐体４２ａの加圧用開口４２ｃは開いており、上部筐体４１ａの吸引口４１ｃは閉じている。
また、図６の場合と同様、２枚のラミネートフィルム４１、４２はいずれも紫外線透過タイプのものとする。また、上部筐体４１ａは、紫外線を透過することの可能な耐圧ガラスの窓部４１ｂにはマスク３５が設けられている。窓部４１ｂはベース板３１或いは第１光導波路材料３２の面積よりやや大きい程度の面積を有し、窓部４１ｂを介して上部から照射された紫外線は更に上部ラミネートフィルム４１を介して第１光導波路材料３２に照射される。このような積層工程によりベース板３１に第１光導波路材料３２が積層され、且つ紫外線照射工程により硬化された第１光導波路材料３２を図５（ｄ）に示す。
次に、図５（ｅ）において、現像を行い、マスク３５により第２光導波路材料３３に紫外線を照射して硬化させた部分のパターニングを完了する。したがって、第２光導波路材料３３の硬化された露光部分３３ａが残り、未露光部分３３ｂが除去される。
次いで、ベース板３１、第１光導波路材料３２、及び第１光導波路材料３３（露光・硬化部分）からなる積層体４２を上下反転（矢印Ｄ）する。
次に、図５（ｆ）において、ベース板３１、第１光導波路材料３２、及び第１光導波路材料３３（露光・硬化部分）からなる積層体の第２光導波路材料３３上に第３光導波路材料３４を積層する。なお、第３光導波路材料３４の材質は、第１光導波路材料３２と同じである。
図８（ａ）、（ｂ）は、ベース板３１、第１光導波路材料３２、及び第２光導波路材料３３からなる積層体の第２光導波路材料３３上に第３光導波路材料３４を積層する工程と、第３光導波路材料３３に紫外線を照射して第３光導波路材料３３を硬化する工程を同時に遂行する図５（ｆ）の方法及び装置を示す。
積層される材料、即ちベース板３１、第１光導波路材料３２、第２光導波路材料３３の積層体は上部ラミネートフィルム４１側に固定され、この積層体と未硬化の第３光導波路材料３３とをこれらの２枚のラミネートフィルム４１、４２により挟み、２枚のラミネートフィルム４１、４２の間を減圧、真空引きし（矢印Ａ）、その後、下部筐体４２ａの加圧開口４２ｃから加圧空気を筐体内へ適用し、第３光導波路材料３４側のラミネートフィルム４２の外側（下側）から、エアーによる均一な荷重を掛ける（矢印Ｂ）。
また、上部筐体４１ａは、紫外線を透過することの可能な耐圧ガラスの窓部４１ｂを有している。窓部４１ｂはベース板３１或いは第１光導波路材料３２の面積よりやや大きい程度の面積を有し、窓部４１ｂを介して上部から照射された紫外線は更に上部ラミネートフィルム４１を介して第１光導波路材料３２に照射される。このような積層工程及び紫外線照射工程により硬化された積層体を図５（ｇ）に示す。
図９（ａ）〜（ｉ）及び図１０、図１１は、本発明の紫外線硬化型導波路材料の積層方法及び装置の第２実施形態を示す。
まず、図９（ａ）において、積層される材料であるベース板３１に第１光導波路材料３２を積層しながら、同時に、第１光導波路材料３２に紫外線を照射し、第１光導波路材料３２を硬化する。ベース板３１は薄い平板状であって、例えば、アクリル系の樹脂板、ポリカーボネート板等の樹脂板、或いは金属板を使用する点は従来と同様である。また、第１光導波路材料３２としては、典型的には、紫外線硬化型エポキシ系樹脂材料、或いはアクリル系、フッ素ポリイミド系、シリコーン系等の紫外線硬化型のその他の材料を使用できる点も従来と同様である。
図１０（ａ）、（ｂ）は、本発明の第２実施形態による、ベース板３１への第１光導波路材料３２の積層工程と、ラミネートフィルム４１を介して第１光導波路材料３２に紫外線を照射して第１光導波路材料３２を硬化する工程を同時に遂行する図９（ａ）の方法及び装置を示す。積層される材料、即ちベース板３１は下部ラミネートフィルム４２に固定され、このベース板３１と未硬化の第１光導波路材料３２とをこれらの２枚のラミネートフィルム４１、４２により挟み、２枚のラミネートフィルム４１、４２の間を減圧、真空引きし（矢印Ａ）、その後、下部筐体４２ａの加圧開口４２ｃから加圧空気を筐体内へ適用し、ベース板３１側のラミネートフィルム４２の外側（下側）から、エアーによる均一な荷重を掛ける（矢印Ｂ）。なお、矢印Ａ方向への真空引きの際は、下部筐体４２ａの加圧用開口４２ｃは閉じており、上部筐体４１ａの吸引口４１ｃは開いている。一方、矢印Ｂ方向の加圧エアー適用の際は、下部筐体４２ａの加圧用開口４２ｃは開いており、上部筐体４１ａの吸引口４１ｃは閉じている。
これらの場合において、本発明の実施形態では、２枚のラミネートフィルム４１、４２はいずれも紫外線透過タイプのものとする。また、上部筐体４１ａは、紫外線を透過することの可能な耐圧ガラスの窓部４１ｂを有している。窓部４１ｂはベース板３１或いは第１光導波路材料３２の面積よりやや大きい程度の面積を有し、窓部４１ｂを介して上部から照射された紫外線は更に上部ラミネートフィルム４１を介して第１光導波路材料３２に照射される。このような積層工程によりベース板３１に第１光導波路材料３２が積層され、且つ紫外線照射工程により硬化された第１光導波路材料３２を図９（ｂ）に示す。
次に、ベース板３１と第１光導波路材料３２との積層体を矢印Ｄのように上下反転させる。
次に、図９（ｃ）において、ベース板３１と第１光導波路材料３２との積層体に第２光導波路材料３３を積層し、図９（ｄ）にしかしながら積層体を得る。次に、図９（ｅ）に示すように、マスク３５を用いて第２光導波路材料３３に紫外線を照射して（矢印Ｃ）第２光導波路材料３３を硬化させる。したがって、図９（ｆ）に示すように、マスク３５の開口部３５ａを透過した紫外線により第２光導波路材料３３の露光部分３３ａ及び未露光部分３３ｂが生ずる。
次に、図１０（ｇ）において、現像を行い、マスク３５により第２光導波路材料３３に紫外線を照射して硬化させた部分のパターニングを完了する。したがって、第２光導波路材料３３の硬化された露光部分３３ａが残り、未露光部分３３ｂが除去される。
更に、積層板を上下反転する（矢印Ｄ）。
図１１（ａ）、（ｂ）は、ベース板３１、第１光導波路材料３２、及び第２光導波路材料３３からなる積層体の第２光導波路材料３３上に第３光導波路材料３４を積層する工程と、第３光導波路材料３４に紫外線を照射して第３光導波路材料３４を硬化する工程を同時に遂行する図９（ｈ）の方法及び装置を示す。
積層される材料、即ちベース板３１、第１光導波路材料３２、第２光導波路材料３３の積層体は下部ラミネートフィルム４２側に固定され、この積層体と未硬化の第３光導波路材料３３とをこれらの２枚のラミネートフィルム４１、４２により挟み、２枚のラミネートフィルム４１、４２の間を減圧、真空引きし（矢印Ａ）、その後、下部筐体４２ａの加圧開口４２ｃから加圧空気を筐体内へ適用し、第３光導波路材料３４側のラミネートフィルム４２の外側（下側）から、エアーによる均一な荷重を掛ける（矢印Ｂ）。
また、上部筐体４１ａは、紫外線を透過することの可能な耐圧ガラスの窓部４１ｂを有している。窓部４１ｂはベース板３１或いは第１光導波路材料３２の面積よりやや大きい程度の面積を有し、窓部４１ｂを介して上部から照射された紫外線は更に上部ラミネートフィルム４１を介して第１光導波路材料３２に照射される。このような積層工程及び紫外線照射工程により硬化された積層体を図９（ｉ）に示す。
以上添付図面を参照して本発明の実施形態について説明したが、本発明は上記の実施形態に限定されるものではなく、本発明の精神ないし範囲内において種々の形態、変形、修正等が可能である。
以上のように、本発明によれば、少なくとも２枚の紫外線硬化型導波路材料を相互に積層し、且つこれらの２枚の紫外線硬化型導波路材料の少なくとも一方に紫外線照射して硬化させる場合において、材料の積層プロセスと紫外線照射プロセスという２つの独立したプロセスを実行する必要がなく、その分のタクトタイム・コストの減少をはかることが可能となる。また、積層と紫外線照射による硬化を同一のプロセスで行うことによる、積層後の樹脂等による材料の剥離を防止することができる。
従来の紫外線硬化型導波路材料の積層工程を示す図である。 図１の従来例において、真空引きにより第１光導波路材料をベース板に積層する方法及び装置を示す。 図１の従来例において、真空引きにより第２光導波路材料を第１光導波路材料上に積層する方法及び装置を示す。 図１の従来例において、真空引きにより第３光導波路材料を第２光導波路材料１３に積層する方法及び装置を示す。 本発明の実施形態の紫外線硬化型導波路材料の積層工程を示す図である。 図５の実施形態において、ベース板に第１光導波路材料を積層し且つ紫外線照射する方法及び装置を示す。 図５の実施形態において、ベース板と第１光導波路材料の積層体に第２光導波路材料を積層し且つパターニングする方法及び装置を示す。 図５の実施形態において、第３光導波路材料を積層し且つ紫外線照射する方法及び装置を示す。 本発明の他の実施形態に係る紫外線硬化型導波路材料の積層工程を示す図である。 図９の実施形態において、ベース板に第１光導波路材料を積層し且つ紫外線照射する方法及び装置を示す。 図９の実施形態において、第３光導波路材料を積層し且つ紫外線照射する方法及び装置を示す。

Claims (5)

  1. ベース板と紫外線硬化型の樹脂材料とを１対のフィルム間に挟み、該１対のフィルム間を減圧又はフィルムに外圧を適用して、前記樹脂材料を前記ベース板に積層すると同時に、紫外線を前記フィルムを介して前記樹脂材料に照射し、該樹脂材料を硬化することを特徴とする紫外線硬化型樹脂材料の積層方法。
  2. ベース板と紫外線硬化型の樹脂材料からなる第１光導波路材料とを１対のフィルム間に挟む工程と、
    該１対のフィルム間に減圧を適用後、外圧を適用して、前記第１光導波路材料を前記ベース板に積層すると同時に、前記フィルムを介して紫外線を該第１光導波路材料に照射して該第１光導波路材料を硬化させて第１積層体を形成する工程と、
    前記第１積層体と紫外線硬化型の樹脂材料からなる第２光導波路材料とを１対のフィルム間に挟む工程と、
    該１対のフィルム間に減圧を適用後、外圧を適用して、該第１積層体の第１光導波路材料に第２光導波路材料を積層すると同時に、マスクを介して第２光導波路材料に紫外線を照射して露光・現像によるパターニングを行い第２積層体を形成する工程と、
    前記第２積層体と紫外線硬化型の樹脂材料からなる第３光導波路材料とを１対のフィルム間に挟む工程と、
    該１対のフィルム間に減圧を適用後、外圧を適用して、該第２積層体の第２光導波路材料に該第３光導波路材料を積層すると同時に、前記フィルムを介して該第３光導波路材料に紫外線を照射して第３光導波路材料を硬化させて第３積層体を形成する工程と、
    を含むことを特徴とする紫外線硬化型導波路材料の積層方法。
  3. 前記第１、第３光導波路材料は同一素材からなり、前記第２光導波路材料と前記第１、第３光導波路材料とは少なくとも屈折率成分が異なることを特徴とする請求項２に記載の紫外線硬化型導波路材料の積層方法。
  4. ベース板と紫外線硬化型の樹脂材料とを１対のフィルム間に挟み、該１対のフィルム間を減圧又はフィルムに外圧を適用して、前記紫外線硬化型樹脂材料を前記ベース板に積層する装置と、紫外線を前記フィルムを介して前記樹脂材料に照射する照射装置とを具備し、前記積層装置によって積層工程を遂行している間に前記照射装置による紫外線照射を遂行するべく、積層装置の一部を紫外線透過可能な耐圧ガラスで構成したことを特徴とする紫外線硬化型樹脂材料の積層装置。
  5. 前記紫外線硬化型樹脂材料は、紫外線硬化型樹脂からなる導波路材料であることを特徴とする請求項４に記載の積層装置。
