Description
Claims (11)
- 少なくとも一方に液晶を駆動する電極群が形成された一対の基板と、
前記一対の基板に挟持された液晶層と、
を備えた液晶表示装置であって、
前記液晶層は、前記一対の基板のうち少なくとも一方の基板側に偏在した高分子と、重合開始剤と、液晶と、を含有し、
前記重合開始剤の溶解パラメータは12.0(cal/cm 3 ) 0.5 以上であり、
前記液晶の溶解パラメータは、前記重合開始剤の溶解パラメータよりも低く、
前記一対の基板に形成された配向膜のうち少なくとも一方の溶解パラメータは、12.0(cal/cm 3 ) 0.5 以上である、
ことを特徴とする液晶表示装置。 - 前記液晶層における前記高分子の含有量は、2.0重量%以下である
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記一対の基板は、前記電極群が形成された第一基板と、前記第一基板に対向する第二基板と、からなる
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - IPS方式の液晶表示装置である
ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記液晶層の前記一方の基板側部分に前記高分子の70重量%以上が含有されている
ことを特徴とする請求項3に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記高分子は、前記一対の基板間で光重合性モノマーと紫外線吸収剤とを含有する液晶組成物に紫外線を照射して前記光重合性モノマーを重合することにより生成された
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記紫外線吸収剤は、液晶性の紫外線吸収剤である
ことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記紫外線吸収剤は、その分子中にターフェニル基又はクォーターフェニル基を含む
ことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記高分子は、前記一対の基板間で、光重合性モノマーと、溶解パラメータが12.0(cal/cm3)0.5以上である前記重合開始剤と、を含有する液晶組成物に光を照射して前記光重合性モノマーを重合することにより生成された
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記重合開始剤は、液晶性の重合開始剤である
ことを特徴とする請求項9に記載の液晶表示装置。 - 前記一対の基板のうち一方の基板に形成された配向膜の溶解パラメータは、他方の基板に形成された配向膜の溶解パラメータより大きい
ことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の液晶表示装置。
