Description
一方フォトセンサによる電流は、温度の影響や迷光の影響によって変動しやすい。本発明はこのような変動をも対策する手段を与えるものである。主な手段は次のとおりである。
この式から、時間差tpは光電流に反比例し、その係数は、積分容量Cpとリセット線VRESのローレベルの電圧VLで決定され、TFTのしきい値電圧Vth2が含まれない。このことから、図12に示すフォトセンサ回路はTFTのしきい値電圧Vth2に依存しないので、光電流(Ip)を安定に検出することができる。
Claims (10)
- 有効画面内には画素がマトリクス状に配置された基板を有し、各画素に加わる画像信号は各画素に対応する薄膜トランジスタによって制御される表示装置であって、
前記基板には前記有効画面の外側に薄膜トランジスタによるフォトセンサが配置され、前記フォトセンサは外光を遮断することによって信号を発生し、前記フォトセンサからの信号は前記表示装置に対して特定の機能を行なわせ、
前記フォトセンサの近傍には薄膜トランジスタによる補正センサが形成され、
前記フォトセンサ用薄膜トランジスタはドレイン部を除いては外光に対する遮光層に覆われており、前記補正センサ用薄膜トランジスタは外光に対する遮光層に覆われていることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記フォトセンサと前記補正センサは対で動作することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記フォトセンサおよび前記補正センサは互いに対をなして形成されており、1つの前記機能に対して前記対が複数形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記フォトセンサと前記補正用センサは隣接して形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記フォトセンサと前記補正センサ用センサは前記画素に対応する薄膜トランジスタと同じプロセスで形成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記フォトセンサ用薄膜トランジスタと前記補正センサ用薄膜トランジスタは同一のサイズであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記フォトセンサ用薄膜トランジスタのゲートは、前記フォトセンサ用薄膜トランジスタのドレインまたはソースと接続されたダイオード構成となっており、前記補正センサ用薄膜トランジスタのゲートは、前記補正センサ用薄膜トランジスタのドレインまたはソースと接続されたダイオード構成となっていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の表示装置。
- 前記フォトセンサ用薄膜トランジスタと前記補正センサ用薄膜トランジスタとが直列に接続されていることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の表示装置。
- 前記フォトセンサからの前記信号を出力する出力配線と、
ドレインまたはソースが前記出力配線に接続されている薄膜トランジスタとを有し、
前記出力配線に接続されている前記薄膜トランジスタのゲートは、直列に接続された前記フォトセンサ用薄膜トランジスタと前記補正センサ用薄膜トランジスタとの間に接続されていることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の表示装置。 - 前記フォトセンサ用薄膜トランジスタのゲートは、前記フォトセンサ用薄膜トランジスタのドレインまたはソースと接続されたダイオード構成となっており、
前記補正センサ用薄膜トランジスタのゲートは、前記補正センサ用薄膜トランジスタのドレインまたはソースと接続されたダイオード構成となっており、
前記対の各々は、前記フォトセンサ用薄膜トランジスタと前記補正センサ用薄膜トランジスタとが直列に接続されており、
前記対が並列に接続されていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の表示装置。
