Description
R.TAKEDA et al., Proc. of International Conference on Advanced Nuclear Fuel Cycles and Systems. GLOBAL ’07 Boise, USA, September, 2007, P.1725には、使用済み核燃料を再処理して得られたTRUを新たな核燃料として再利用するリサイクルを繰り返し行う多重イサイクルを実現するために、TRUの各同位元素の存在割合をほぼ一定に保ってTRUをリサイクルする軽水増殖炉及びTRU消滅炉を提案している。この軽水増殖炉は、TRU量を一定に保持しもしくは増加する状態でリサイクルし、高燃焼度化及び核拡散抵抗性を高めた燃料集合体を装荷した炉心を有している。TRU消滅炉は、軽水炉がその使命を終えたときにTRUが超寿命放射性廃棄物になることを避けるために、TRUを核分裂で減少させながらTRUを順次集約し、最後の一炉心分を除いて全てのTRUを核分裂させる原子炉である。
本実施例においても、実施例1と同様に、全引き抜き状態となっている安全棒の中性子吸収材充填領域15の上端が燃料棒3の燃料有効長14の下端(下部燃料領域8Aの下端)に位置させる(図14参照)替りに、各燃料集合体に含まれる各燃料棒3の燃料有効長14の下方に、ボロン、ガドリニア、Dy,Sm.Eu等の中性子吸収物質を含んだペレット21を配置しても同様の効果が得られる(図19参照)。
Claims (4)
- 超ウラン核種の複数の同位元素を含む核燃料物質を有する複数の燃料集合体が装荷され、上部ブランケット領域、下部ブランケット領域及び前記上部ブランケット領域と前記下部ブランケットの間に配置されて前記超ウラン核種を含む燃料領域を形成している軽水炉の炉心において、
装荷された燃焼度ゼロの前記燃料集合体は、この燃料集合体に含まれる全ての前記超ウラン核種中に占めるPu−239の割合が40%以上60%以下の範囲内にあり、前記下部ブランケット領域の高さと前記上部ブランケット領域の高さの和が250mm以上600mm以下の範囲内にあり、及び前記下部ブランケット領域の高さが前記上部ブランケット領域の高さの1.6倍以上12倍以下の範囲内にあることを特徴とする軽水炉の炉心。 - 前記上部ブランケット領域の高さが30mm以上105mm以下の範囲内にある請求項1に記載の軽水炉の炉心。
- 前記炉心は、内部ブランケット領域、前記上部ブランケット領域と前記内部ブランケットの間に配置されて前記超ウラン核種を含む、前記燃料領域である上部燃料領域及び前記内部ブランケット領域と前記下部ブランケットの間に配置されて前記超ウラン核種を含む、前記燃料領域である下部燃料領域を有しており、
前記上部燃料領域の高さが前記下部燃料領域の高さよりも、10mm以上25mmの範囲内で高くなっている請求項1または請求項2に記載の軽水炉の炉心。 - 安全棒の中性子吸収材領域の上端が、前記下部ブランケット領域の下端付近及び前記下部ブランケット領域内のいずれかに位置されている請求項1に記載の軽水炉の炉心。
