Description
しかしながら、Ag又はAg合金からなる中間層上に、Bi又はBi合金に添加元素を添加して形成されるオーバレイ層を被着したすべり軸受は、実使用により高温環境下におかれると、オーバレイ層中の添加元素が中間層側に拡散し、オーバレイ層のなじみ性が低下することがある。
本発明に言う基材2とは、中間層3を介してオーバレイ層4を被着する部材であり、例えばCu基軸受合金層、Al基軸受合金層、その他の軸受合金層、軸受合金層を設けずに裏金層に相当する部材で相手材を支持する場合には当該裏金層相当部材、又は、軸受合金層若しくは裏金層の上に設けた層である。オーバレイ層4は、Bi又はBi合金を主成分に形成されている。尚、本発明で言う、オーバレイ層4の主成分として形成されているBi合金には、低融点の金属との合金からなるものは含まれない。中間層3は、Bi原子と結合しやすいAg又はAg合金を主成分に形成されている。これにより、中間層3はオーバレイ層4と接着しやすく、高負荷での使用によるオーバレイ層4の剥がれという問題は生じ難い。
Sn及びInの融点は、オーバレイ層4の主成分であるBiの融点よりも低い。よって、低融点の金属からなる添加元素を、Sn又はInの少なくとも1種類から構成することにより、オーバレイ層4は低融点化し、軟化し、なじみ性は向上する。
中間層3中に含まれる添加元素を、50質量%以下とすることが、なじみ性を良好に維持する摺動部材において耐疲労性の面で望ましい。更に、5質量%以上35%以下にすることが好ましい。高い耐疲労性となじみ性を発揮させることができる。
図1に示すように、鋼板からなる裏金層5上にCu合金又はAl合金からなる軸受合金層2(基材2)を形成し、この軸受合金層2上に中間層3を形成し、この中間層3上にオーバレイ層4を形成して下記表1の実施例品試料1〜10及び比較例品試料1〜5を得た。
Snを含有する中間層は、表2に示すめっき条件で基材上に作製した。Inを含有する中間層は、表2に示すめっき条件でAg基層を形成し、その後にスルファミン酸浴にてInめっきを施し、そして100〜150℃、60〜120分間の熱処理を適宜行ってInをAg基層中に拡散させて作製した。尚、表2中のGPE−ADは、大和化成株式会社製の商品名である。
まず、オーバレイ層中の添加元素の拡散試験の結果について説明する。
実施例品試料1〜10は、比較例品試料1〜5と比較して、オーバレイ層中の添加元素の減少量の割合は少ない。実施例品試料1〜10と比較例品試料1〜5との比較から、中間層中に含まれる添加元素の量がオーバレイ層中に含まれる添加元素の量の5倍以上であるとき、このオーバレイ層中の添加元素の拡散は低減されることが理解される。
実施例品試料1〜10は、比較例品試料1〜5と比較して、300時間の熱処理後においてもクラックが発生しない最大面圧に優れ、なじみ性が良好であることがわかる。実施例品試料1〜10と比較例品試料1〜5との比較から、特に実施例品試料6,7と比較例品試料5との比較から、中間層中に含まれる添加元素の量がオーバレイ層中に含まれる添加元素の量の5倍以上であるとき、オーバレイ層中の添加元素の拡散が顕著に低減され、その結果、オーバレイ層のなじみ性は長期にわたり良好であることが理解される。
本発明の適用は、自動車用エンジンのすべり軸受に限られず、摺動部材に広く適用できる。
Claims (3)
- 基材に中間層を介してオーバレイ層を被着した摺動部材において、
前記オーバレイ層は、Bi又はBi合金に低融点の金属からなる添加元素を添加して形成され、
前記中間層は、Ag又はAg合金に前記添加元素を添加して形成され、
前記添加元素は、前記中間層中に含まれる量が前記オーバレイ層中に含まれる量の5倍以上であることを特徴とする摺動部材。 - 前記添加元素は、Sn又はInの少なくとも1種類からなることを特徴とする請求項1記載の摺動部材。
- 前記中間層中に含まれる前記添加元素は、前記中間層を構成する元素のうち50質量%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1又は2記載の摺動部材。
