また、上記燃料はジメチルエーテルであっても良い。
図2は、本発明の他の実施形態に係る燃料戻し装置の概略図である。
図3は、従来の燃料戻し装置の概略図である。
本実施形態は、ジメチルエーテル(以下DMEという)が充填された燃料タンクを二つ備え、各燃料タンクから燃料を同時に供給するDMEエンジンに対して適用したものであり、まず、図1を用いてDMEエンジンの燃料供給システムについて説明する。DMEは常温・大気圧下では気体となるが、この燃料供給システム内では常に大気圧よりも高圧に加圧されて液体状態で使用される。
次に、本発明の他の実施形態について図2を用いて説明する。なお、図1に示したものと同一の要素には同一の符号を付して説明を省略する。
Claims (4)
- 二つの燃料タンクから同時に内燃機関に供給された燃料のうち余剰分の燃料を回収して各燃料タンクへと戻すための燃料戻し装置であって、
上記各燃料タンク内の燃料の残量を検出する残量検出手段と、
上記余剰分の燃料を回収する第1戻し通路と、
該第1戻し通路の下流端から分岐して上記二つの燃料タンクへとそれぞれ接続された二つの第2戻し通路と、
上記各燃料タンク内の燃料の残量がほぼ均一化されるように、上記残量検出手段の検出値に応じて各燃料タンクへ戻る燃料の配分を調整するための流量制御弁と、
上記残量検出手段の検出値に応じて上記流量制御弁を制御する電子制御ユニットとを備え、
上記第2戻し通路の一方に上記流量制御弁が介設され、上記第2戻し通路の他方に流量制限手段が介設されたことを特徴とする内燃機関の燃料戻し装置。 - 上記内燃機関は噴射すべき燃料を蓄圧するためのコモンレールを備え、上記各燃料タンクはそれぞれ燃料圧送ポンプを備え、その燃料圧送ポンプと上記コモンレールとの間に吐出圧力が調整可能な調圧ポンプが少なくとも一つ介設され、上記コモンレールから排出された燃料及び上記調圧ポンプから排出された燃料を上記第1戻し通路に戻す請求項1に記載の内燃機関の燃料戻し装置。
- 上記燃料は常温かつ大気圧下では気体となる特性を有し、かつ使用状態においては大気圧よりも高圧に加圧されて液体とされる請求項1又は2に記載の内燃機関の燃料戻し装置。
- 上記燃料がジメチルエーテルである請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の内燃機関の燃料戻し装置。
