Description
紫外線は、高強度紫外線ランプ40から伝達され、紫外線入口開口35を通って進み、図2に示すように下方の紫外線窓表面36へ入る。流体搬送又は表面の汚染物による紫外線の吸収を排除するためにランプ40と開口50との間の距離を最小にするのが望ましい。ある実施の形態においては、開口50は(光学結合効率を向上させるために)1又はそれ以上のレンズ素子を具備する。第1の紫外線71は下方の紫外線窓表面を出て、屈折により曲げられ、流体5へ入って第2の紫外線72を画定する。第2の紫外光線72は内部表面13に垂直な表面を基準にして測定した入射角1で流体5に接触する流体入口チューブ10の内部表面13上に衝突する。第2の紫外光線72が流体入口チューブ10の側壁へ入ると、光線は屈折により曲げられ、新たな内部反射角度2で再指向され、第3の紫外光線73を画定する。

Claims (7)
- 紫外線を使用して空気を殺菌する装置であって、
入口端部(111)、末端方向で対向する出口端部(112)、空気に接触する内部表面、及び外部表面を有する空気入口チューブ(110);
空気入口チューブの表面の少なくとも一部上に位置する全内部反射構造(120);
空気入口チューブのまわりに位置する空気収容容器(130);
前記空気収容容器の下方の一部を形成する紫外線窓(135);
前記紫外線窓を通過し、空気入口チューブの内部表面に衝突する紫外線を提供する高強度紫外線ランプ(140);及び
空気収容容器から延びる空気出口(150);を有することを特徴とする装置。 - 前記空気入口チューブは紫外線等級シリカガラスから構成されることを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 前記全内部反射構造は空気入口チューブの外部表面に沿って延びる複数のプリズム光ガイドを有することを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- フィードバック機構としての空気収容容器内へのびる紫外線センサを含む警報手段を更に有することを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 前記空気出口からの空気通路内にオゾンを酸素に変換するための触媒フィルタを更に有することを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
- 殺菌されるべき空気が前記空気入口チューブ入口端部へ入る前に汚染物を除去するための空気フィルタを更に有することを特徴とする請求項5の装置。
- 前記空気入口チューブの空気通路中に配置される偏向ミラーを更に有することを特徴とする請求項1の装置。
