本発明は、自動車等に搭載されるバッテリの電極(バッテリポスト)に取り付ける上締バッテリターミナルに係り、特に、ターミナル変位部をボルトで締め付けた際、ブラケットに変形を来すことのない上締バッテリターミナルに関するものである。

従来のバッテリターミナルは、図7〜図9に示す如く構成されている。

図において、バッテリターミナル1は、ターミナル本体2と、ブラケット3と、ボルト4と、ナット5とから構成されている。

ターミナル本体2は、一枚の金属板を図示のように二つに折り曲げ、端子ボルト7を、頭部8を金属板の屈曲部に挟み込んで、ネジ部9を外部に突設させて電線接続部6を構成している。そして、この電線接続部6には、端子ボルト7のネジ部9に、電線を圧着した端子(図示していない)を嵌着し、ナット(図示していない)を螺合して締め付け電線を接続するようになっている。

また、このターミナル本体2は、金属板を二つに折り曲げて形成される電線接続部6から延設する上側部10と下側部11が上下対向配置され概略的に同一形状に形成される。すなわち、上側部10は、電線接続部6の端部から垂直方向に曲げ、さらに水平方向折り曲げて段差部12が形成されている。そして、この上側部10には、バッテリポスト50を嵌挿する取付孔13が形成されている。この取付孔13の上側部10先端側から上側部10の先端まで所定幅の空隙14が設けられている。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】
このように従来のバッテリターミナルを用いてバッテリポスト50に取り付けた場合、ボルト4のネジ部51をブラケット3の貫通孔28に貫通し、ブラケット3の貫通孔28を貫通したボルト4のネジ部51を締付片17、18に形成されているボルト孔19、締付片22、23に形成されているボルト孔24に貫挿し、このボルト孔19、24を貫通したボルト4のネジ部51にワッシャ31を嵌着し、ナット5を螺合して仮止めの状態では、ブラケット3の側片25には、図10に示す如く、締付片17が接点A1で、締付片18が接点A2で当接しており、ブラケット3の側片26には、締付片17が接点B1で、締付片18が接点B2で当接している。すなわち、仮止めの状態では、締付片17、18は、ブラケット3の側片25、26に均等に当接している。

上記の目的を達成するために、請求項1に記載の上締バッテリターミナルは、電線接続部と、該電線接続部から延設する側部にバッテリポストを挟持する取付孔を設け、該側部先端に所定の空隙を形成し略矩形状に形成してなる一対の締付片を設けて構成してなるターミナル本体と、
上広がりのテーパー面を左右に対向させて形成した切欠部を有する2つの側片を互いに対向させて備えたブラケットとからなり、
ボルト・ナットで前記締付片と前記ブラケットを締め付けることによって前記バッテリポストを締め付けて固定する上締バッテリターミナルであって、
前記ターミナル本体の締付片の両外側端に側部延設方向の中心線を基準にして外側に広がるテーパーを形成すると共に、
前記ブラケットの2つの側片の前記側部に形成される取付孔より遠い側に位置する側片のテーパー角度をブラケットの2つの側片の前記側部に形成される取付孔に近い側に位置する側片のテーパー角度より大きく構成し
前記締付片の負荷が前記ブラケットの2つの側片に均等に掛かるようにしたものである。

【発明の実施の形態】
以下本発明に係る上締バッテリターミナルの実施の形態を、図面に基づいて詳細に説明する。
図1は本発明を適用した上締バッテリターミナルの構成を示す組立斜視図、図2は図1に図示の上締バッテリターミナルの下側部を示す斜視図、図3は本発明に係る上締バッテリターミナルを組み立てた状態を示す斜視図、図4〜図6は上締バッテリターミナルでバッテリポストに取り付けたときの上締バッテリターミナルの締め付け動作を示す図である。
なお、図1〜図3において、図7〜図9と同じ部材には同じ符号を付して示してある。

図1において、バッテリターミナル1は、ターミナル本体40と、ブラケット60と、ボルト4と、ナット5とから構成されている。
