Description
(1) 骨内部の空洞による1つの骨欠損部に複数個充填され、これらが集合した状態で使用されるペレット状の骨補填材であって、
複数の面で囲まれ、該複数の面のうち、少なくとも対向する一対の面において、一方の面に対し他方の面が所定角度傾斜している立体で構成され、空孔率が75%以下であり、かつ圧潰強度が15MPa以上であることを特徴とする骨補填材。
また、骨補填材を定型とすることで、中空部を有する筒体を用いた充填が特に容易なものとなる。
また、前記立体を構成する複数の面のうち、少なくとも対向する一対において、一方の面に対し、他方の面が所定角度傾斜していることにより、骨補填材の骨欠損部への充填操作をさらに円滑、確実、安全に行うことができるとともに、骨欠損部への充填率を特に高いものとすることができ、手術の効果をより長期間にわたって発揮することができる。
また、1つの前記骨欠損部に、複数個の前記骨補填材が充填され、これらが集合した状態で使用されることにより、骨欠損部への充填率を特に高いものとすることができ、手術の効果をより長期間にわたって発揮することができる。
これにより、骨補填材の骨欠損部への充填操作をさらに円滑、確実、安全に行うことができるとともに、骨欠損部への充填率を特に高いものとすることができ、手術の効果をより長期間にわたって発揮することができる。

また、本発明によれば、骨補填材を、骨欠損部の各部位(部分)に、均一かつ十分に充填することができる。
本発明の骨補填材は、骨欠損部に充填して使用されるものである。
図2および図3は、それぞれ、本発明の骨補填材の他の構成例を示す斜視図である。
すなわち、まず、公知の方法により、セラミックススラリーを得る。
このセラミックススラリーを所定形状の型に供給し、乾燥させて成形体を得る。
図4〜図10は、それぞれ、本発明の骨補填材1を椎体内に充填する方法を説明するための図であり、図11は、椎体圧迫骨折整復術が施された椎骨を模式的に示す図である。また、図12〜図16は、骨補填材1の充填操作を含む椎体圧迫骨折整復術に用いる各手術器具の一例を示す図である。用いる手術器具はこれらの例に限定されるものではない。
このガイド棒2は、例えば図5および図12に示すように、横断面がほぼ円形をなす棒状体21と、棒状体21の基端部に設けられた把持部22とを有している。
このような孔93の拡径操作を、左右の孔93に対して行う。
以上のような手技によれば、低侵襲での椎体圧迫骨折整復術が可能である。

Claims (19)
- 骨内部の空洞による1つの骨欠損部に複数個充填され、これらが集合した状態で使用されるペレット状の骨補填材であって、
複数の面で囲まれ、該複数の面のうち、少なくとも対向する一対の面において、一方の面に対し他方の面が所定角度傾斜している立体で構成され、空孔率が75%以下であり、かつ圧潰強度が15MPa以上であることを特徴とする骨補填材。 - 略柱状をなす請求項1に記載の骨補填材。
- 略六面体の形状をなす請求項1または2に記載の骨補填材。
- 直方体の一部を除去した形状をなす請求項3に記載の骨補填材。
- 略五面体の形状をなす請求項1または2に記載の骨補填材。
- 三角柱の一部を除去した形状をなす請求項5に記載の骨補填材。
- 略三面体の形状をなす請求項1または2に記載の骨補填材。
- 円柱の一部を除去した形状をなす請求項7に記載の骨補填材。
- 前記角度が10〜60°である請求項1ないし8のいずれかに記載の骨補填材。
- 前記立体の最も長い辺の長さが5〜10mmである請求項1ないし9のいずれかに記載の骨補填材。
- 前記立体の最も短い辺の長さが2〜5mmである請求項1ないし10のいずれかに記載の骨補填材。
- 1個当たりの体積が13〜239mm3である請求項1ないし11のいずれかに記載の骨補填材。
- 面取り加工の施された請求項1ないし12のいずれかに記載の骨補填材。
- 中空部を有し、該中空部内に当該骨補填材が複数個充填された筒体を用いて、前記骨欠損部に充填される請求項1ないし13のいずれかに記載の骨補填材。
- 複数個の当該骨補填材が前記筒体内に充填された状態で、複数個の当該骨補填材を連続して前記骨欠損部に充填したとき、前記骨欠損部内に拡散するよう構成されている請求項14に記載の骨補填材。
- 主としてセラミックスで構成された請求項1ないし15のいずれかに記載の骨補填材。
- 前記セラミックスは、主としてリン酸カルシウム系化合物で構成されたものである請求項16に記載の骨補填材。
- 前記リン酸カルシウム系化合物のCa/P比が、1.0〜2.0である請求項17に記載の骨補填材。
- 椎体、腸骨、肩甲骨、上腕骨、尺骨、橈骨、大腿骨、けい骨および腓骨からなる群より選択される少なくとも1種の骨の前記骨欠損部に充填される請求項1ないし18のいずれかに記載の骨補填材。
