Description
ー(Cp)はサステイン電圧(Vs)を維持する。
以後、説明の便宜性のために、図6bのタイミングに供給されて強いサステイン放電を起こすサステインパルスを第2サステインパルス(sus2)とする。
以後、説明の便宜性のために、図6cのタイミングに供給されて強いサステイン放電を起こすサステインパルスを第3サステインパルス(sus3)とする。
図7は、本発明のプラズマディスプレイ装置による第1階調表現方法を示す図である。 図7では、一つのフレ-ムに含まれた複数のサブフィールドのサステイン期間の中で少なくとも一つ以上のサステイン期間の間、他のサブフィールドのサステイン期間と相異するサステインパルスを供給して階調表現力を高める。
図8は、本発明のプラズマディスプレイ装置による第2階調表現方法を示す図である。 図8では 一つのフレームに含まれた複数のサブフィールドのサステイン期間の中で、少なくとも一つ以上のサステイン期間の間、他のサブフィールドのサステイン期間と相異するサステインパルスを供給して階調表現力を高める。
図9は本発明のプラズマディスプレイ装置による第3階調表現方法を示す図である。
図10a及び図10bを参照すれば、本発明のプラズマディスプレイ装置による第4階調表現方法は、1秒(1s)に含まれた複数のフレーム(例えば60F)中少なくとも一つ以上のフレームのサステイン期間の間、第2サステインパルス(sus2)及び/または第3サステインパルス(sus3)を供給する。即ち、第2サステインパルス(sus2)及び第3サステインパルス(sus3)の少なくとも一方を、1秒に含まれた複数のフレームの中で少なくとも一つ以上のフレームに含ませても良い。
Claims (13)
- 複数のサブフィールドがリセット期間、アドレス期間、サステイン期間で分けられて一つのフレームの画像を表現するプラズマディスプレイ装置において、
前記サステイン期間の間、エネルギー回収装置を利用してサステインパルスを前記プラズマディスプレイ装置のパネルに供給する時、
前記エネルギー回収装置のサステイン電圧源に接続されたスイッチのターンーオンタイミングを調節して階調値を制御し、
前記スイッチのターンーオンタイミングを調節して階調値を制御することは、
予め割り当てされた輝度加重値の階調を表示するように、走査電極と維持電極との間に等価的に形成されたパネルキャパシターにインダクターを介して共振波形の電圧が供給開始される時点から第1時間後に前記スイッチをターン-オンし、
前記予め割り当てされた輝度加重値より高い階調を表示するように、前記パネルキャパシターにインダクターを介して共振波形の電圧が供給開始される時点から前記第1時間と相異する第2時間後に前記スイッチをターン-オンし、 前記予め割り当てされた輝度加重値より低い階調を表示するように、前記パネルキャパシターにインダクターを介して共振波形の電圧が供給される時点から前記第1時間と相異する第3時間以後に前記スイッチをターンーオンすることであることを特徴とする、プラズマディスプレイ装置。 - 前記第1時間は、前記パネルキャパシターにおおよそ前記サステイン電圧が充電される時間に設定されることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第2時間は、前記第1時間より短く設定されることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第3時間は、前記第1時間より長く設定されることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 一つのフレームに含まれた複数のサブフィールドの中で少なくとも一つ以上のサブフィールドのサステイン期間の間、前記スイッチが前記第2時間後にターンーオンして生成されるサステインパルスが供給されることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 一つのフレームに含まれた複数のサブフィールドの中で少なくとも一つ以上のサブフィールドのサステイン期間の間前記スイッチが第3時間後にターンーオンして生成されるサステインパルスを供給することをされることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のプラズマディ
スプレイ装置。 - 一つのフレームに含まれた複数のサブフィールドの中で少なくとも一つ以上のサブフィールドのサステイン期間の間、前記スイッチが第3時間後にターンーオンして生成されるサステインパルスが供給されることを特徴とする、請求項6記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 1秒の時間に含まれた複数のフレームの中で少なくとも一つ以上のフレームのサステイン期間の間、前記スイッチが第2時間後にターンーオンして生成されるサステインパルスが供給されることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 1秒の時間に含まれた複数のフレームの中で少なくとも一つ以上のフレームのサステイン期間の間、前記スイッチが第3時間後にターン-オンして生成されるサステインパルスが供給されることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 1秒の時間に含まれた複数のフレームの中で少なくとも一つ以上のフレームのサステイン期間の間、前記スィッチが第3時間後にターンーオンして生成されるサステインパルスが供給されることを特徴とする、請求項8記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記サステイン期間の間、前記スイッチが第2時間後にターンーオンして生成されるサステインパルスが少なくとも一つ以上供給されることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記サステイン期間の間、前記スイッチが第3時間後にターンーオンして生成されるサステインパルスが少なくとも一つ以上供給されることを特徴とする、請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記サステイン期間の間、前記スィッチが第3時間後にターンーオンして生成されるサステインパルスが少なくとも一つ以上供給されることを特徴とする、請求項11記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
