Description
CeO2を15重量%含むセリアゾルと、Al2O3を10重量%含むアルミナゾルを、CeとAlとのモル数の比が1:1になるようにして混合して原料ゾルを得た。ここでは、アルミナゾルの等電点が約4.2、セリアゾルの等電点が約7.7であった。
アルミナゾルの代わりに、SiO2を10重量%含むシリカゾルを用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、CeO2の表面層とSiO2の中心部を有し、これらの酸化物の重量に対して2重量%のPtを担持された触媒(「Pt(2重量%)/CeO2表面SiO2触媒」とする)を得た。尚、シリカゾルの等電点は約2.9であった。この触媒を、実施例1と同様に1mm角のペレットにして試験で用いた。
実施例1で用いたセリアゾルを120℃で24時間にわたって乾燥し、得られた生成物を700℃で5時間焼成してCeO2を得た。その後、実施例1と同様の方法を用いて、Ptを2重量%担持したCeO2触媒(「Pt(2重量%)/CeO2触媒」とする)を得た。この触媒を、実施例1と同様に1mm角のペレットにして試験で用いた。
実施例1で用いたアルミナゾルを120℃で24時間にわたって乾燥し、得られた生成物を700℃で5時間焼成してAl2O3を得た。その後、実施例1と同様の方法を用いて、Ptを2重量%担持したAl2O3触媒(「Pt(2重量%)/Al2O3触媒」とする)を得た。この触媒を、実施例1と同様に1mm角のペレットにして試験で用いた。
比較例1及び2で得たCeO2とAl2O3とを、CeとAlとのモル数の比が1:1になるようにして混合した。その後、実施例1と同様の方法を用いて、Ptを2重量%担持したCeO2とAl2O3との混合触媒(「Pt(2重量%)/CeO2+Al2O3触媒」とする)を得た。この触媒を、実施例1と同様に1mm角のペレットにして試験で用いた。
アルミナゾルの代わりに、ZrO2を10重量%含むジルコニアゾルを用いた以外は実施例1と同様にして、CeO2の表面層とZrO2の中心部を有し、これらの酸化物の重量に対して2重量%のPtを担持された触媒(「Pt(2重量%)/CeO2表面ZrO2触媒」とする)を得た。この触媒を、実施例1と同様に1mm角のペレットにして試験で用いた。

Claims (4)
- セリアのモル数よりもアルミナ及びシリカのモル数の合計が多い中心部と、アルミナ及びシリカのモル数の合計よりもセリアのモル数が多い表面層とを有する金属酸化物粒子の製造方法であって、
(a)アルミナ及びシリカの少なくとも一方のゾルとセリアゾルとを含有する溶液を調製すること、
(b)前記溶液のpHを、セリアゾルの等電点よりも、アルミナ及びシリカの少なくとも一方のゾルの等電点に近づけること、並びに
(c)前記溶液からゾルを凝集させて凝集物を作ること、
を含み、且つ前記金属酸化物粒子中の(Al+Si):Ceのモル比が、1:0.5〜0.5:1である、金属酸化物粒子の製造方法。 - 前記セリアゾルの等電点と、前記アルミナ及びシリカの少なくとも一方のゾルの等電点との差が、3.5以上である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 工程(b)において、前記溶液のpHを、セリアゾルの等電点よりも、アルミナ及びシリカの少なくとも一方のゾルの等電点に近づけ、且つアルミナ及びシリカの等電点±0.5以内にする、請求項1又は2に記載の方法。
- 請求項1〜3のいずれか1項に記載の方法で金属酸化物粒子を得ること、及び
担体としての前記金属酸化物粒子に貴金属を担持すること、
を含む、排ガス浄化用触媒製造方法。
