Must be inserted into the upper support rod, and welding is performed in a state where the side wall of the upper support rod and the side wall of the leg element are sandwiched by the electrodes. Therefore, when a large load is applied to the top plate and the load acts as a bending force on the entire upper support rod with the upper end of the front wall of the leg element as a fulcrum, the upper support rod is particularly plastically deformed around the fragile opening window. May bend.

It has a substantially rectangular pipe shape with a rear wall 27 and is integrally formed by bending a single sheet metal material. The outer dimension between the side walls 21 and 21 of the upper stay 2 is set slightly smaller than the inner dimension between the side walls 11 and 12 of the column 1, and the vertical dimension of the side wall 21 is folded from the upper end of the column 1. The dimension substantially corresponds to the dimension up to the upper surface of the bent piece 13a and the dimension from the upper end to the partition upper ends 15a and 16a.
Then, the rear part of the upper stay 2 is attached to the support side wall 1.
1 and 12 are fitted closely, and the bottom wall 23 is
a and the upper ends 15a and 16a of the partition walls. In the center of the bottom wall 23 of the upper stay 2,
An opening 24 is formed along the longitudinal direction.
An inner wall 23a that rises from the bottom wall 23 is integrally provided so as to sandwich the base 4 therebetween. The opening 24 is necessary when a bolt fastening operation is performed on the top plate D mounted on the upper stay 2 or the like. In this embodiment, even if such an opening 24 is provided, the opening 24 is provided on both sides thereof. By making the inner wall 23a provided upright function as a rib, the strength of the entire stay is maintained. Conventionally, at the upper wall 22 of the upper stay 2 near the upper part of the front wall of the column 1, there are provided two large-diameter windows through which a spot welding gun can be inserted and withdrawn. Although the welding is performed by the welding gun through the opening window, in the present embodiment, such an opening window is not provided on the upper wall 22, and a substantially uniform thickness is secured over the entirety. Things. In the drawing, reference numeral 22a denotes a hole used for transportation in the manufacturing process of the upper stay 2, which is much smaller than the conventional welding hole in the vicinity of the longitudinal end, and is bent. It does not affect the strength against stress. Similarly, the front end of the upper wall 22 of the upper stay 2 has a top plate mounting hole 22b that does not affect the strength against bending stress.

And the side wall 21b of the upper stay 2 is inserted between the corresponding side walls 11, 12 of the column 1. At the same time, the rear wall 27 of the upper stay 2 is positioned in contact with the inner surface of the rear wall 14 of the column 2 as shown in FIGS. 2 to 5, and the lower end of the bottom wall 23 is bent at the notch 10. The upper surface of the piece 13a and the upper ends 15a and 16a of the partition walls are in contact with each other. Then, the side walls 11 and 12 of the column 1 corresponding to the rear side wall 21 of the upper stay 2.
2 and 7 are rigidly connected via a welding joint 5 by projection welding which does not require holding between members. In order to perform such welding, projections 11a and 12a are formed on the inner surface near the upper ends of the left and right side walls 11 and 12 of the support column 1 by previously raising a part of the member. In the fitted state, pressure is applied between the side plates 11 and 13 so that these protrusions 11a and 12a are pressed against the outer surfaces of the corresponding side walls 21 of the upper stay 2, and in this state, the space between the column 1 and the upper stay 2 is formed. The protrusions 11a and 12a are melted by applying a current from an appropriate position to the side walls 21 of the upper stay 2 and the side walls 11 and 12 of the column 1 are welded. In addition, in this embodiment, the lower surface of the middle portion of the bottom wall 23 of the upper stay 2 and the front wall 13 of
3 and 4 is rigidly connected via a welding joint 6 formed by arc welding as shown in FIGS. As a result, the rear portion of the upper stay 2 is firmly connected to the side walls 11, 12 and the front wall 13 of the column 1 in a positioned state.

A uniform thickness is secured in at least a portion of the upper wall 22 where a large bending stress is applied by the top plate load, that is, the upper wall 22 near the bent piece 13a which is a point of direct application of the bending stress. be able to. For this reason, compared with the conventional case where an opening window for spot welding is provided, there is no portion that is locally vulnerable to bending stress, and the entire upper stay 2 has high strength by utilizing the rigidity of the member itself. Can be secured. Moreover, even when the upper stay 2 has such a structure, the upper stay 2 and the column 1 are connected by the above-described prosection welding joint 5, and this welding directly clamps the electrode by directly applying an electrode between the members. Since there is no need for this, it is not inconvenienced in the manufacture of the legs that the opening window for welding is not formed in the upper wall 22 of the upper stay 2.

For example, it is of course effective to apply the same configuration as the above embodiment between the lower stay 3 and the support. The lower stay 3 shown in FIG. 3 has an opening facing upward, opposite to the upper stay 2, and a portion extending forward from the support 1 is concealed by a cover 3a. When the projection welding 50 is applied between the side wall 31 of the lower stay 3 and the side plates 11 and 12 of the column 1 at the fitting portion of the lower stay 3, it is necessary to provide a hole for welding particularly in the bottom wall 33 of the lower stay 3. Can be eliminated. In the above embodiment, a bent piece bent inward may be provided at the upper ends of the side walls 11 and 12 of the column 1, and the upper stay 2 may be inserted through the lower surface of the bent piece. By doing so, the upper stay 2 is supported by the support 1
As a result, the load on the welded joint can be reduced, and the connection strength can be more effectively increased.

That is, the leg of the present invention secures a uniform thickness by stopping forming an opening window for welding on the upper wall of the upper supporting rod , forms a projection on the inner surface of the leg element, and the projection is formed by the upper supporting rod. The rear portions of the side walls are fitted between the side walls of the corresponding leg elements so as to be pressed against the outer surfaces of the both side walls of the upper support rod, and the rear wall of the upper support rod is mounted on the leg.
Projection welding, which does not require pinching between members, is used to connect the upper support rod to the leg element by abutting against the rear wall of the element, resulting in an increase in the number of parts and the number of manufacturing steps. Therefore, an extremely useful effect that an appropriate mounting state of the upper support rod and high rigidity against bending stress can be ensured can be obtained.
