Claims (7)
- 表示パネル及びこの表示パネルを駆動するパネル駆動部を含む表示モジュールと、
前記表示モジュールから分離され、前記パネル駆動部を制御するタイミングコントローラーを含むホストシステムと、
前記ホストシステムと前記表示モジュールの間で通信するインターフェース装置とを含み、
前記インターフェース装置は、
前記ホストシステムと前記表示モジュールの間に連結されたケーブルと、
前記ホストシステムに内蔵され、前記タイミングコントローラーから供給されたデータを暗号化して前記ケーブルを介して伝送する送信モジュールと、
前記表示モジュールに装着され、前記ケーブルを介して伝送されたデータを復元して前記パネル駆動部に供給する受信モジュールとを含む、OLED表示装置。 - 前記送信モジュールは、
前記タイミングコントローラーから供給される4色(RGBW)データの中で3色(RGB)データを圧縮し、
圧縮された前記3色データを伝送する第1チャネルと、圧縮されていないWデータを伝送する第2チャネルとを分離して前記4色データを伝送する、請求項1に記載のOLED表示装置。 - 前記送信モジュールは、
前記タイミングコントローラーから供給された入力垂直同期信号を用いて位相の相異なる第1及び第2垂直同期信号を生成し、
前記第1チャネルを介して前記第1垂直同期信号のアクティブ期間に前記3色データを伝送するとともに前記第2チャネルを介して前記第2垂直同期信号のアクティブ期間に前記Wデータを伝送し、
前記第1及び第2垂直同期信号のアクティブ期間は、前記タイミングコントローラーから前記表示パネルに供給されるセンシング用データを伝送するセンシング期間を交互に含む、請求項2に記載のOLED表示装置。 - 前記第1及び第2垂直同期信号は前記入力垂直同期信号の1/2倍の周波数を有し、
前記第1及び第2垂直同期信号のそれぞれのアクティブ期間は、2個のフレームの映像データを伝送する2個のフレームの有効データ期間と、この2個のフレーム期間の間に割り当てられた前記センシング期間とを含み、
前記各チャネルのセンシング期間は他のチャネルのブランク期間と重畳する、請求項3に記載のOLED表示装置。 - 前記パネル駆動部は、前記センシング期間に前記インターフェース装置を介して供給された前記センシング用データを用いて前記表示パネルの該当ピクセルを駆動した後、駆動された該当ピクセルの出力特性をセンシングし、該当ピクセルのセンシング値を前記インターフェース装置を介して前記タイミングコントローラーに伝送する、請求項4に記載のOLED表示装置。
- 前記送信モジュールは、ICに集積化され、前記タイミングコントローラーが実装された制御回路基板に実装され、前記制御回路基板のコネクタを介して前記ケーブルと連結され、
前記受信モジュールは、ICに集積化され、前記表示モジュールに装着されたフラットフレキシブルケーブル上に実装され、前記フラットフレキシブルケーブルのコネクタを介して前記ケーブルと連結される、請求項1に記載のOLED表示装置。 - 前記インターフェース装置は、HDCP(High−bandwidth Digital Contents Protection)の暗号化アルゴリズムを支援するHDMI(High Definition Multimedia Interface)伝送規格を用いる、請求項1ないし6のいずれか一項に記載のOLED表示装置。
