Claims (5)
- 移動体(1)の収容部(2a)に収容され、前記収容部の開口(2b)を通して前記移動体の投影面(3a)に画像を投影することにより、前記画像を虚像(5)として前記移動体の室内から視認可能に表示するヘッドアップディスプレイ装置であって、
光源光を発する光源(12a)と、
前記光源光から直線偏光を取り出す第1の偏光子(16a)と、
前記第1の偏光子からの前記光源光に照明され、前記画像を表示する表示画素(17a)と前記画像を表示しない非表示画素(17b)とを切替可能に設けられ、前記表示画素の偏光方向(DP1)と前記非表示画素の偏光方向(DP0)とを異ならせる液晶層(16d)と、
前記液晶層からの前記光源光を、前記投影面へ向けて導光する導光部(20)と、
透過軸(42a)の光を透過させ、前記透過軸と交差する遮断軸(42b)の光を遮断することにより、前記光源光のうち、前記表示画素に対応する前記光源光を透過させると共に、前記収容部の前記開口を塞ぐ防塵シート(40)として配置されている第2の偏光子(42)とを備えることを特徴とするヘッドアップディスプレイ装置。 - 前記防塵シートにおいて前記第2の偏光子に重ねて形成され、位相差を生じさせることにより、前記光源光の偏光状態を調整する位相子(44)を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のヘッドアップディスプレイ装置。
- 前記偏光状態の調整は、楕円偏光への調整であって、
前記防塵シートでは、前記第2の偏光子が前記光源側で、前記位相子が前記投影面側であることを特徴とする請求項2に記載のヘッドアップディスプレイ装置。 - 前記遮断軸は、光を吸収する吸収軸であることを特徴とする請求項1から3のいずれか1項に記載のヘッドアップディスプレイ装置。
- 前記防塵シートは、前記開口において、暗色のベゼル(50)によって縁取られていることを特徴とする請求項1から4のいずれか1項に記載のヘッドアップディスプレイ装置。
