表2に示す結果から、ハンドル部としての把持部は被覆材のゴム硬度が15〜40のスチレン系エラストマー樹脂がフィット性の点で適すること、ゴム硬度が15未満では、把持部を握ったとき手のベタツキ感が強く、汚れがつきやすいこと、ゴム硬度が15未満では、芯材との接着性が低く剥がれやすいため適さないこと、ゴム硬度が40以上の場合、把持部を握ったとき被覆材が硬くフィット感が得られないこと、更に滑り防止性も低くなるため適さないことが判明した。
また、ハンドル部としての把持部は被覆材の厚みが2〜5mmで成形するのがフィット性の点で適することが判明した。即ち、厚みが2mm以下では、把持部を握ったとき被覆材が硬くフィット感が低く好ましくないこと、厚みが5mm以上では、把持部が太くなり過ぎ、持ちにくいため好ましくないことが判明した。
これらの試験結果から、ゴム硬度が15〜40の範囲であって、その厚みが2〜5mmの範囲が歯ブラシ用として好ましいことが判明した。

From these test results, it was found that the rubber hardness is in the range of 15 to 40 and the thickness is in the range of 2 to 5 mm for the toothbrush.

「試験例3」
本発明に係わるヘッド部、首部、把持部とを有する歯ブラシハンドルにおいて、把持部を硬質材料の芯材と軟質材料の被覆材とから構成し、芯材をポリプロピレン樹脂から形成し、被覆材の摩擦係数を2、被覆材をゴム硬度20のスチレン系エラストマー樹脂から形成し、先のスチレン系エラストマー樹脂により把持部表面の約90%を平均厚み=3mmにて被覆した歯ブラシと、被覆材の摩擦係数を0.2、被覆材としてゴム硬度60のオレフィン系エラストマー樹脂を用い、把持部表面の約90%を平均厚み=1mmにて被覆した構造の歯ブラシ(比較品:特開2000−265232号公報に記載の歯ブラシ相当品)で使用テストを実施した。その結果を以下の表3に示す。
以下の表3において、パネル数(テスト数):n=30、テスト期間:2週間、7段階絶対評価(非常によい:7点、よい:6点、ややよい:5点、どちらともいえない:4点、ややよくない:3点、かなりよくない:2点、非常によくない:1点)の基準で示している。

「試験例4」
次に、被覆部を構成するスチレン系エラストマー樹脂において、摩擦係数が高いエラストマーを使用すると滑り性は優れるが、把持部を握った場合に手に伝わる感触としてのベタツキ性が問題となる。そこで、このベタツキ性の試験を行うために、スチレン系エラストマー樹脂の表面に形成するシボ加工の有無によるベタツキ性評価試験を行った。
評価試験はスチレン系エラストマー樹脂のゴム硬度15、40、摩擦係数1.0のものを用い、平均厚み3mmとして、その表面に形成するシボの平均荒さ(Ra)を10μm未満とした試料、10〜200μmの範囲とした試料、200μmを超える大きさとした試料で個々にベタツキ状態と成形性について評価した。その結果を以下の表4に示す。
以下の表4においてベタツキ○印の試料は把持部を把持した際にベタツキを感じない試料、×印の試料はベタツキを感じた試料、成形性において○印は問題なく成形できた試料であり、×印は金型からの離型性の面で成形性に支障を生じた試料を示す。

A sticky state and moldability were individually evaluated for a sample having a range of 200 μm and a sample having a size exceeding 200 μm. The results are shown in Table 4 below.
In Table 4 below, a sample with a sticky circle is a sample that does not feel sticky when the gripping part is gripped, a sample with a × mark is a sample that feels sticky, and a circle in the moldability is a sample that can be molded without problems. A cross indicates a sample in which moldability is hindered in terms of releasability from the mold.

表4に示す結果から、スチレン系エラストマー樹脂からなる被覆材のゴム硬度が15〜40の場合、ベタツキ性と成形性の点から、シボ加工の粗さはRa=10〜200μの範囲が好ましく、Ra=10μ未満ではベタツキがあり、Ra=200μ以上では成形性が悪いという問題を生じた。また、先のシボ加工は被覆材の全面、もしくは、被覆材表面の50%以上に設けるのが望ましい。50%未満の場合、シボ加工によるベタツキ防止効果が低くなる。従ってゴム硬度15〜40であり、10〜200μmの範囲のシボ粗さのものが、ベタツキ性がなく、成形性にも良好な結果が得られた。   From the results shown in Table 4, when the rubber hardness of the coating material made of styrene-based elastomer resin is 15 to 40, the roughening roughness is preferably in the range of Ra = 10 to 200 µ in terms of stickiness and moldability. 前記把持部において前記首部側と反対側の後端側近傍の植毛面部側及び背面側に個々に前記芯材部から外方側に突出して前記被覆部の表面側に露出する凸部を形成し、これら凸部において前記被覆部から外部に露出している部分の合計面積を前記把持部の面積の10%以下としてなり、
前記芯材部の表面側に前記被覆部を介し該被覆部の表面側に露出して視認可能なロゴレリーフ用の複数の表示突部を形成し、これら表示突部の周囲を囲むとともに前記芯材部の表面を覆う前記被覆部の厚みを2〜5mmの範囲とし、
前記被覆部の表面の摩擦係数を1以上とし、前記被覆部表面積の50%以上にシボ加工を施してなり、前記被覆部のゴム硬度を15〜40の範囲、前記シボ加工の粗さ(Ra)を10〜200μmの範囲としたことを特徴とする歯ブラシ。
