Abstract
【解決手段】複数の発光ブロックからなる光源モジュール及び複数の画素を含む表示装置に提供される画素データの補正方法は、各画素に提供される光の輝度である画素輝度を決める。前記画素データの補正方法は、各発光ブロックが発光できる発光最大輝度及び画素輝度に基づいて画素データを補正する補正データを生成する。

Claims (10)
- 複数の発光ブロックからなる光源モジュール及び複数の画素を含む表示装置に提供される画素データの補正方法において、
各画素に提供される光の輝度である画素輝度を決めること、
各発光ブロックの発光最大輝度及び前記画素輝度に基づいて前記画素データを補正する補正データを生成すること、を含むことを特徴とする画素データの補正方法。 - 前記補正データを生成することは、
前記画素輝度が前記発光最大輝度より大きい場合に、前記画素データより低階調の補正データを生成することであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画素データの補正方法。 - 前記補正データを生成することは、
前記画素輝度が前記発光最大輝度より小さい場合に、前記画素データより高階調の補正データを生成することであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画素データの補正方法。 - 前記補正データを生成することは、
前記画素輝度が前記発光最大輝度と同一である場合に、前記画素データと同一階調の補正データを生成することであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画素データの補正方法。 - 前記画素輝度を決定することは、
前記画素データを利用して前記発光ブロックのディミングレベルを決定すること、
前記発光ブロックのディミングレベルを利用して前記画素輝度を決定すること、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の画素データの補正方法。 - 複数の発光ブロックから発生した光が表示パネルの画素を透過する透過率を制御する画素データの補正方法において、
前記画素に提供される光の輝度である画素輝度が一つの発光ブロックが発光することのできる発光最大輝度より大きい場合、前記画素を透過する光の透過率を減少させることを特徴とする画素データの補正方法。 - 前記画素輝度が前記発光最大輝度より小さい場合、前記画素を透過する光の透過率を増加させることを特徴とする請求項6に記載の画素データの補正方法。
- 画素を含む表示パネルと、
複数の発光ブロックからなり、前記表示パネルに光を提供する光源モジュールと、
前記画素に提供される光の輝度である画素輝度が一つの発光ブロックが発光できる発光最大輝度より大きくなる場合に、前記画素に対応する画素データを低階調に補正するローカルディミング駆動部と、を含むことを特徴とする表示装置。 - 前記ローカルディミング駆動部は、
前記画素データを利用して前記発光ブロックのディミングレベルを決定するディミングレベル決定部と、
前記ディミングレベルを利用して前記画素輝度を決定する画素輝度決定部と、
前記画素輝度と前記発光最大輝度に関する補正係数を利用して前記補正データを生成する補正部と、を含むことを特徴とする請求項8に記載の表示装置。 - 画素を含む表示パネルと、
複数の発光ブロックからなり、前記表示パネルに光を提供する光源モジュールと、
各画素に提供する光の輝度である画素輝度を決定する画素輝度決定部と、
各発光ブロックが発光できる発光最大輝度及び前記画素輝度に基づいて前記画素データを補正する補正データを生成する補正部と、を含むことを特徴とする表示装置。
