Abstract
【解決手段】観察側とは反対側の基板3に張出部3aが形成され、この張出部3aの観察側基板2と対向する側の面上にドライバ素子8が搭載された液晶表示素子1の観察側に、観察面保護板18を予め定めた間隙を設けて配置し、液晶表示素子1と観察面保護板18との間の間隙に、液晶表示素子1の観察側基板2の外面全体及び張出部3aの少なくともドライバ素子8が搭載された部分に対応させて、液晶表示素子1と観察面保護板18とを接合する樹脂層20を設けた。

Description
液晶層を挟んで対向する観察側とその反対側の一対の基板のうちの反対側基板に、観察側基板の外方に張出す張出部が形成され、この張出部の前記観察側基板と対向する側の面上にドライバ素子が搭載された液晶表示素子と、
前記液晶表示素子の全体を前記張出部を含んで覆う形状に形成され、前記液晶表示素子の観察側に、前記液晶表示素子との間に予め定めた間隙を設けて配置された観察面保護板と、
前記液晶表示素子と前記観察面保護板との間の間隙に、前記液晶表示素子の観察側基板の外面全体及び前記張出部の少なくとも前記ドライバ素子が搭載された部分に対応させて設けられ、前記液晶表示素子と前記観察面保護板とを接合する樹脂層と、
を備えることを特徴とする。
Claims (5)
- 液晶層を挟んで対向する観察側とその反対側の一対の基板のうちの反対側基板に、観察側基板の外方に張出す張出部が形成され、この張出部の前記観察側基板と対向する側の面上にドライバ素子が搭載された液晶表示素子と、
前記液晶表示素子の全体を前記張出部を含んで覆う形状に形成され、前記液晶表示素子の観察側に、前記液晶表示素子との間に予め定めた間隙を設けて配置された観察面保護板と、
前記液晶表示素子と前記観察面保護板との間の間隙に、前記液晶表示素子の観察側基板の外面全体及び前記張出部の少なくとも前記ドライバ素子が搭載された部分に対応させて設けられ、前記液晶表示素子と前記観察面保護板とを接合する樹脂層と、
を備えることを特徴とする保護板一体型液晶表示パネル。 - 液晶表示素子の張出部のドライバ素子が搭載された面の端部に、前記ドライバ素子に信号を供給するための配線フィルムの一端が接続されており、樹脂層は、前記配線フィルムの端部を覆って設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の保護板一体型液晶表示パネル。
- 液晶表示素子の張出部のドライバ素子が搭載された面の両側の縁部にそれぞれ、前記張出部の両側方向への樹脂層の広がりを規制する堰部材が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1または2に記載の保護板一体型液晶表示パネル。
- 堰部材は、張出部の観察側基板の端縁に対応する部分から前記張出部の端縁にわたる長さに形成された帯状部材からなっていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の保護板一体型液晶表示パネル。
- 堰部材は、液晶表示素子の観察側基板の外面よりも高く、且つ前記液晶表示素子の観察側に配置された観察面保護板に対して間隙を設けて対向する高さに形成されており、樹脂層は、前記堰部材と前記観察面保護板との間の間隙に充填して設けられていることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の保護板一体型液晶表示パネル。
