パワーメータ16とコンピュータ18との間の通信はPLC20によって制御される。PLC20は、マイクロプロセッサを有しており、プログラムを書き換えることによってシーケンス制御できる内容を容易に変更できる。配線14には充電器12のオン・オフをおこなうマグネットコンタクターMCが取り付けられており、そこからの信号によって充電器12がオンの時に通信をおこなうようにする。充電時以外では不必要な通信はおこなわれない。
