Abstract
【解決手段】電極基材10と、電極基材10上に形成され増感色素を細孔表面に担持させた多孔質半導体層20と、多孔質半導体層20に対向して配置された対向電極40と、電極基材10および対向電極40の間に形成され、酸化還元対、樹脂および必要に応じてイオン性液体を含む電解質層30とから構成される色素増感型太陽電池1であって、電解質層30が、多孔質半導体層20の細孔内部に浸透している第一電解質層31と、多孔質半導体層20および対向電極40の間を満たす第二電解質層32とを有し、さらに第一電解質層31に含まれる酸化還元対の濃度が、第二電解質層32に含まれる酸化還元対の濃度よりも小さい色素増感型太陽電池1である。

(2)電解質層が、さらにイオン性液体を含む上記(1)に記載の色素増感型太陽電池。
(3)酸化還元対が、ヨウ素の酸化還元対である上記(1)または(2)に記載の色素増感型太陽電池。
(4)電極基材および対向電極が、可撓性フィルムである上記(1)〜(3)のいずれかに記載の色素増感型太陽電池。
(5)上記(1)〜(4)のいずれかに記載の色素増感型太陽電池の複数を、直列または並列に接続してなる色素増感型太陽電池モジュール。
(1)電極基材および対向電極
電極基材10および対向電極40は、それぞれガラスやプラスチック等の基板の表面上に電極層を形成することによって得ることができる。基板は、透明であっても不透明であっても良いが、光の受光面側に位置する場合には、光の透過性に優れた透明基板であることが好ましい。さらに、耐熱性、耐候性、および水蒸気等に対するガスバリア性に優れたものであることが好ましい。具体的には、石英ガラス、パイレックス(登録商標)、合成石英ガラス等の可撓性のない透明なリジット材、エチレン−テトラフルオロエチレン共重合体フィルム、二軸延伸ポリエチレンテレフタレートフィルム、ポリエーテルサルフォンフィルム、ポリエーテルエーテルケトンフィルム、ポリエーテルイミドフィルム、ポリイミドフィルム、ポリエステルナフタレート等のプラスチックフィルムを挙げることができる。本発明においては、これらの中でも、プラスチックフィルムを基板としてこれに電極層を形成した可撓性フィルムからなる電極基材および対向電極を使用することが好ましい。これにより様々な用途に太陽電池を用いることができ、また太陽電池の軽量化、製造コストの削減を果たすことができる。なお、プラスチックフィルムは単独で基板として使用しても良く、2種以上の異なるプラスチックフィルムを積層した状態で使用しても良い。
次に、多孔質半導体層20について説明する。多孔質半導体層は、金属酸化物半導体の粒子を有し、これに増感色素が担持され、光照射により増感色素から生じた電荷を伝導する機能を有している。
次に、電解質層30について説明する。電解質層30は、電極基材10および対向電極40の間に形成され、酸化還元対、樹脂および必要に応じてイオン性液体を含んでいる。電解質層は固体状であるので、色素増感型太陽電池の耐久性および安定性を向上させることができる。
ヘキシルメチルイミダゾリウムアイオダイド(富山薬品)1mol/l、ヨウ素(メルク)0.1mol/l、N−メチルベンゾイミダゾール(アルドリッチ)0.45mol/l、およびグアニジウムチオシアネート(アルドリッチ)0.1mol/lをエチルメチルイミダゾリウムチオシアネート(富山薬品)に溶解し電解液を調製した。
可撓性フィルムであるインジウムドープ酸化スズ付きフィルム基板(ITO/PEN、トービ製OTEC、表面抵抗値13Ω/□)上に、Ti−Nanoxide D−LALT(Solaronix、約18重量%の酸化チタンを含むペースト)を10μmの膜厚となるようにドクターブレード法にて形成した。その後、このフィルム基板をオーブン内において120℃で10分間乾燥させた。

Claims (5)
- 電極基材と、電極基材上に形成され増感色素を細孔表面に担持させた多孔質半導体層と、多孔質半導体層に対向して配置された対向電極と、電極基材および対向電極の間に形成され、酸化還元対および樹脂を含む電解質層とから構成される色素増感型太陽電池であって、電解質層が、多孔質半導体層の細孔内部に浸透している第一電解質層と、多孔質半導体層および対向電極の間を満たす第二電解質層とを有し、さらに第一電解質層に含まれる酸化還元対の濃度が、第二電解質層に含まれる酸化還元対の濃度よりも小さい色素増感型太陽電池。
- 電解質層が、さらにイオン性液体を含む請求項1に記載の色素増感型太陽電池。
- 酸化還元対が、ヨウ素の酸化還元対である請求項1または2に記載の色素増感型太陽電池。
- 電極基材および対向電極が、可撓性フィルムである請求項1〜3のいずれかに記載の色素増感型太陽電池。
- 請求項1〜4のいずれかに記載の色素増感型太陽電池の複数を、直列または並列に接続してなる色素増感型太陽電池モジュール。
