Claims (31)
- 画像表示部と、該画像表示部の少なくとも1辺に沿って隣接する他部とを有する電子表示装置と、
前記電子表示装置に隣接して配置されるカバーであって、前記表示装置の前記画像表示部に隣接して配置され光学特性を有する第1の部分と、前記表示装置の前記他部に隣接して配置され光学特性を有する第2の部分とを含み、前記カバーの前記第1の部分及び前記第2の部分の光学特性が、前記表示装置が画像を表示していない時には、ベゼルの無い均一なカバーの外観を呈するように選択され、前記第1の部分の光学特性が、前記電子表示装置の前記画像表示部に表示される画像の透過に関しても選択される、カバーと、
を含む、ベゼルの無い電子ディスプレイ。 - 前記第2の部分の光学特性が、前記表示装置の前記他部の可視性を実質的に低下させるよう選択される、請求項1記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記第2の部分が不透明である、請求項1記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記第2の部分が不透明コーティングを含む、請求項1記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記第2の部分が、画像を表示していない時の前記画像表示部と同じRGB色彩値を有する不透明材料を含む、請求項3記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記第1の部分がティントを含む、請求項1記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記カバーが単一のプラスチックシートを含み、前記第1の部分及び前記第2の部分が前記シートの異なる領域を構成する、請求項1記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記第1の部分が、該第1の部分を透過する画像の色彩値の変化を低減するようにニュートラルティントを含む、請求項7記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記第2の部分が不透明コーティングを含む、請求項7記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記電子表示装置が液晶装置を含む、請求項1記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記カバーが平坦な外形を有する、請求項1記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 画像表示部と、該画像表示部に隣接する他部とを有する電子表示装置と、
光を透過する第1の部分を有するカバーと、
開放端を有する囲壁であって、該囲壁内に前記電子表示装置が取り付けられ、前記カバーがベゼルの無い前記囲壁の前記開放端を閉止し、前記カバーの前記第1の部分が前記表示装置の前記画像表示部を覆う、囲壁と、
を含む、ベゼルの無い電子ディスプレイ。 - 前記カバーが、前記電子表示装置の前記他部を覆うよう配置された前記第1の部分を囲む第2の部分を含み、前記第1の部分及び前記第2の部分がそれぞれ異なる光学特性を有する、請求項12記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記カバーの前記第2の部分の光学特性が、前記電子表示装置の前記他部を部分的に又は完全にマスキングするよう選択される、請求項13記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記第1の部分及び前記第2の部分の光学特性が、前記画像表示部が画像を表示していない時に均一な外観を呈するよう選択される、請求項14記載のディスプレイ。
- 画像表示部を有する主表示装置と、
前記主表示装置の画像表示の有無から独立して、前記主表示装置の前記画像表示部の外側の周辺部において少なくとも1つの画像を表示する副表示装置と、
を含むディスプレイ装置。 - 画像表示部と、該画像表示部の少なくとも1辺に沿って隣接する他部とを有する主電子表示装置と、
前記主電子表示装置に隣接して配置されるカバーであって、前記主表示装置の前記画像表示部に隣接して配置され光学特性を有する第1の部分と、前記表示装置の前記他部に隣接して配置され光学特性を有する第2の部分とを含み、前記カバーの前記第1の部分及び前記第2の部分の光学特性が、前記表示装置が画像を表示していない時には、ベゼルの無い均一なカバーの外観を呈するように選択され、前記第1の部分の光学特性が、前記画像表示部に表示される画像の透過に関しても選択される、カバーと、
前記主表示装置の画像表示の有無から独立して、前記カバーの前記第2の部分内に位置する領域内に少なくとも1つの画像を表示する副表示装置と、
を含む、ベゼルの無い電子ディスプレイ。 - 前記副表示装置が固定画像を表示する、請求項17記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記副表示装置が少なくとも1つのロゴを表示する、請求項17記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記副表示装置が、光源と、固定画像を定める構造とを含む、請求項17記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記副表示装置の前記光源が液晶装置を含む、請求項17記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記副表示装置の前記光源が発光ダイオードを含む、請求項17記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記副表示装置によって表示される前記固定画像を定める前記構造が、前記光源を覆う前記固定画像を定める複数の対比的な光学特性を含む、請求項21記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記光源が液晶装置を含み、前記固定画像を定める前記構造が前記液晶装置の一部を含む、請求項21記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 第1の部分及び第2の部分を有するカバーを、画像表示部と該画像表示部の少なくとも1辺の一部に沿って延在する他部とを含む表示装置に組み付けて、前記カバーの前記第1の部分が前記画像表示部を覆い、且つ、前記カバーの前記第2の部分が前記表示装置の前記他部を覆うようにすることと、
前記表示装置の前記画像表示部が画像を表示していない時に前記カバーが均一な外観を呈するように、前記第1の部分及び前記第2の部分の光学特性を選択することと、
を含む、ベゼルレス電子ディスプレイを提供する方法。 - 画像表示部と、該画像表示部の少なくとも1辺に沿って隣接する他部とを有する電子表示装置と、
前記電子表示装置を含むアセンブリ内に取り付けられ前記電子表示装置に隣接して配置されるカバーであって、前記表示装置の前記画像表示部に隣接して配置され光学特性を有する第1の部分と、前記表示装置の前記他部に隣接して配置され光学特性を有する第2の部分とを含み、前記カバーの前記第1の部分及び前記第2の部分の光学特性が、前記表示装置が画像を表示していない時に、ベゼルの無い均一なカバーの外観を呈するように選択され、前記第1の部分の光学特性が、前記電子表示装置の前記画像表示部に表示される画像の透過に関しても選択される、カバーと、
を含む、ベゼルの無い電子ディスプレイ。 - 開放端を有する囲壁を含み、該囲壁内に前記電子表示装置が取り付けられ、前記カバーがベゼルの無い前記囲壁の前記開放端を閉止する、請求項26記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記カバーが前記電子表示装置に取り付けられ、前記アセンブリの全て又は一部を構成する、請求項27記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記アセンブリが前記囲壁を更に含む、請求項28記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記表示装置に取り付けられる別個のフレームを含み、前記カバー、前記別個のフレーム及び前記表示装置が取り付けられて前記アセンブリの全て又は一部を構成する、請求項26記載の電子ディスプレイ。
- 前記アセンブリの一部を構成する囲壁を含み、該囲壁が、ベゼルの無いカバーによって閉止される開放端を有する、請求項30記載の電子ディスプレイ。
