Abstract
Description
充填剤入りポリオレフィンが、押出被覆法において周知である。ポリマー中への充填剤の一般的な使い方としては、表面平滑性の向上、摩擦係数の改善、粘着中におけるヒートシール性の向上、表面自由エネルギの改善及び押出被覆中における被膜と基材(例えば、ポリエチレンと板紙)の接着性の向上が挙げられる。既存の当該技術分野では、充填剤入りポリマーに対するホットメルト接着剤の接着を向上させるための充填剤入りポリマーの使用についての文献記載は無い。
図1の積層品5の形態と一致した構造体を用いて容器を製造した。積層品は、配合量が15重量%の炭酸カルシウムを配合した12ポンド/3msfのポリエチレンで被覆した基本重量が212ポンド/3msfの板紙材料を有するものであった。加うるに、構造体の反対側の表面は、バリヤ材料とポリエチレンの組合せであった。押出被覆法による充填剤入りポリエチレン層の製造中、問題は生じなかった。巻取材をスカイブドリットルゲーブルトップ(skived liter gable top)形カートンの状態に加工した。炭酸カルシウムを含まない市販のカートンも又試験した。
ポリマー材料のヒートシールは典型的には、熱間粘着性(溶融状態のポリマーを接触させ、次に分離する)又はヒートシール強度(冷却後にサンプルを分離するのに必要な力)として報告されている。板紙用途では、接着品質は、板紙繊維がインタフェースのところでのポリマー分離に先立って分離するので、板紙の繊維引裂けパーセントの関数として評価される。

これら結果の立証するところによれば、接着性能の大幅な変化(繊維引裂けパーセント)が対照例において観察されている。加うるに、ホットメルト接着剤の温度を上昇させるとシール性能が向上したが、これは商業的に許容レベルのものではなかった。これとは異なり、15重量%の炭酸カルシウム入りのポリエチレンを用いて製造した基材は、100%繊維引裂けを示した。
Claims (6)
- 積層品であって、
(a)外面及び内面を備えた板紙基材と、
(b)板紙基材の外面に塗布された無機充填剤入りポリオレフィンの層と、
(c)無機充填剤入りポリオレフィンに塗布されたホットメルト接着剤とから成ることを特徴とする積層品。 - ポリオレフィンは、低密度ポリエチレン、線状低密度ポリエチレン、高密度ポリエチレン、ポリプロピレン又はこれらの配合物であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の積層品。
- 無機充填剤は、炭酸カルシウム、二酸化チタン、タルク、クレー、炭素質土、ガラスビーズ又は顔料であることを特徴とする請求項1記載の積層品。
- 無機充填剤は、無機充填剤入りポリオレフィン層の1〜40重量%を占めることを特徴とする請求項3記載の積層品。
- 無機充填剤は、無機充填剤入りポリオレフィン層の15重量%を占めることを特徴とする請求項3記載の積層品。
- 無機充填剤入りポリオレフィンの塗布に先立って板紙基材の内側部に塗布された少なくとも1つの他のポリオレフィンを更に有していることを特徴とする請求項1記載の積層品。
