Abstract
【解決手段】本発明の排ガス浄化用触媒は、希土類元素とアルカリ土類元素とジルコニウムと貴金属とを含み、希土類元素とジルコニウムとの和に対するアルカリ土類元素の原子比は10原子%以上であり、希土類元素の一部とジルコニウムの一部とはアルカリ土類元素の少なくとも一部と複合酸化物を形成し、この複合酸化物と貴金属の一部とは固溶体を形成していることを特徴とする。

Description
図1は、本発明の一態様に係る排ガス浄化用触媒を概略的に示す図である。この排ガス浄化用触媒1は粒子を凝集させてなるペレット触媒であり、図1には、その一粒子を描いている。この排ガス浄化用触媒1は、例えば1000℃乃至1200℃の高温条件下で使用する。
まず、希土類元素とジルコニアとの複合酸化物を主成分として含有した粉末状の担体11を準備し、そのスラリーを調製する。このとき、分散媒としては、例えば水を使用する。次に、このスラリーに貴金属塩溶液を添加し、これを濾過する。続いて、濾過ケークの乾燥及び焼成を順次行う。このようにして、担体11に貴金属を担持させる。
硝酸セリウム[Ce(NO3)3]とオキシ硝酸ジルコニウム[ZrO(NO3)2]とを、セリウムとジルコニウムとの原子比が50:50となるように秤量し、これらを500mLの脱イオン水中に添加した。十分に攪拌した後、室温で、この水溶液に10重量%の水酸化アンモニウム水溶液を滴下して共沈を生じさせた。この沈殿物を含んだ水溶液を60分間攪拌し、次いで、濾過した。
最終製品においてセリウムとジルコニウムとの和に対するバリウムの原子比が30原子%となるように酢酸バリウム水溶液の濃度及び添加量を調節したこと以外は、実施例1で説明したのと同様の方法により排ガス浄化用触媒を製造した。
最終製品においてセリウムとジルコニウムとの和に対するバリウムの原子比が50原子%となるように酢酸バリウム水溶液の濃度及び添加量を調節したこと以外は、実施例1で説明したのと同様の方法により排ガス浄化用触媒を製造した。
最終製品においてセリウムとジルコニウムとの和に対するバリウムの原子比が80原子%となるように酢酸バリウム水溶液の濃度及び添加量を調節したこと以外は、実施例1で説明したのと同様の方法により排ガス浄化用触媒を製造した。
最終製品においてセリウムとジルコニウムとの和に対するバリウムの原子比が100原子%となるように酢酸バリウム水溶液の濃度及び添加量を調節したこと以外は、実施例1で説明したのと同様の方法により排ガス浄化用触媒を製造した。
白金を担持した酸化物の酢酸バリウム水溶液中への添加からその後の焼成までを行わなかったこと以外は、実施例1で説明したのと同様の方法により排ガス浄化用触媒を製造した。
本例では、まず、化学式:(Ce,Zr,Y)O2で表される酸化物粉末を以下の方法で生成した。

まず、各排ガス浄化用触媒を流通式の耐久試験装置内に配置し、触媒床に窒素を主成分としたガスを100mL/分の流量で30時間流通させた。この間、触媒床温度は1050℃に維持した。また、触媒床に流通させるガスとしては、窒素に酸素を5%加えてなるリーンガスと、窒素に一酸化炭素を10%加えてなるリッチガスとを使用し、これらガスは5分毎に切り替えた。
Claims (7)
- 希土類元素とアルカリ土類元素とジルコニウムと貴金属とを含み、希土類元素とジルコニウムとの和に対するアルカリ土類元素の原子比は10原子%以上であり、希土類元素の一部とジルコニウムの一部とはアルカリ土類元素の少なくとも一部と複合酸化物を形成し、この複合酸化物と貴金属の一部とは固溶体を形成していることを特徴とする排ガス浄化用触媒。
- 希土類元素としてセリウムを含んだことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
- セリウム以外の希土類元素をさらに含んだことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
- アルカリ土類元素としてバリウムを含んだことを特徴とする請求項1乃至3の何れか1項に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
- 前記原子比は100原子%以下であることを特徴とする請求項1乃至4の何れか1項に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
- 前記貴金属の含量は0.01重量%乃至10重量%の範囲内にあることを特徴とする請求項1乃至5の何れか1項に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
- 前記貴金属のうちの10%乃至80%が前記固溶体を形成していることを特徴とする請求項1乃至6の何れか1項に記載の排ガス浄化用触媒。
