Abstract
【解決手段】 車両10の前部に配置される第1エネルギー吸収部材18の車両前後方向での厚さTは、車両幅方向の中央部(厚さTc)から端部(厚さTs)に向かって漸減されている。第1エネルギー吸収部材18と第2エネルギー吸収部材の少なくとも一方(好ましくは双方)について、車両前後方向の剛性が車両幅方向端部から中央に向かって小さくされている。これにより、車両10が衝突体102と衝突したときに衝突体102に作用する荷重が、車両幅方向で平準化される。

衝突体102と衝突した位置での法線方向と衝撃作用方向との成す角θC、θSについては、
θC<θS
の関係がある。したがって、実際に衝突体102が車両から受ける斜め方向の荷重FC、FSについては、FSのほうがFCよりも、車両幅方向外側への分力成分をより多く持つ。換言すれば、衝突体102に対し車両幅方向外側へ移動させる力を考えると、車両幅方向端部近傍での力ESは、車両幅方向中央近傍でのこの力ECよりも大きくなる。
このように、車両幅方向端部へと近づくにつれて、衝突体102は幅方向外側へと逃げようとするため、実質的に衝突体102が受ける荷重も小さくなる。

Claims (3)
- 車両前後方向の少なくとも一方の車端部に設けられ外力のエネルギーを変形により吸収するエネルギー吸収部材を備えた車両端部構造であって、
前記エネルギー吸収部材の車両前後方向の厚みが車両幅方向において部分的に異なるように形成され、この厚みの厚い部分が薄い部分よりも車両前後方向の剛性を相対的に低くされている、
ことを特徴とする車両端部構造。 - 請求項1に記載の車両端部構造であって、
前記エネルギー吸収部材の車両前後方向の厚みが車両幅方向中央から端部に向かって薄くなり、且つこのエネルギー吸収部材の車両前後方向の剛性が車両幅方向端部から中央に向かって小さくされている、
ことを特徴とする車両端部構造。 - 車両前後方向の少なくとも一方の車端部に設けられ外力のエネルギーを変形により吸収するエネルギー吸収部材を備えた車両端部構造であって、
前記エネルギー吸収部材の車両前後方向での外側端部が車両幅方向の中央から端部に向けて車両前後方向の中央に向かうように湾曲され、且つこのエネルギー吸収部材の車両前後方向の剛性が車両幅方向端部から中央に向かって小さくされている、
ことを特徴とする車両端部構造。
