Abstract
【解決手段】放電セルのそれぞれで画像を表現するために駆動波形を供給するデータ駆動期間と、前記駆動波形を供給するための電圧値が所望の電圧まで上昇するための予備期間とに分けて駆動されるプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法において、前記データ駆動期間のサステイン期間に電極に供給される波形と、前記予備期間のサステイン期間に前記電極に供給される波形とが相異なっていることを特徴とする。

Claims (8)
- 放電セルのそれぞれで画像を表現するために駆動波形を供給するデータ駆動期間と、前記駆動波形を供給するための電圧値が所望の電圧まで上昇するための予備期間に分けて駆動されるプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法において、
前記データ駆動期間のサステイン期間に電極に供給される波形と、前記予備期間のサステイン期間に前記電極に供給される波形とが相異なっていることを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 前記予備期間に含まれるサブフィールドのサステイン期間中、前記放電セルに含まれた走査電極及び維持電極に基底電圧が供給されることを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記予備期間に含まれるサブフィールドのサステイン期間中、前記放電セルに含まれた走査電極に第1サステインパルスが供給される段階と、
前記放電セルに含まれた維持電極に前記第1サステインパルスと同期される第2サステインパルスが供給される段階と、を含むことを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。 - 前記予備期間に含まれるサブフィールドのサステイン期間中、前記放電セルに含まれた走査電極及び維持電極のいずれか一つの電極がフローティングになることを特徴とする請求項3記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記フローティングにならない残りの電極にはサステインパルスが供給されることを特徴とする請求項4記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記予備期間に含まれるサブフィールドのサステイン期間中、前記放電セルに含まれた走査電極及び維持電極がフローティングになることを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記予備期間に含まれるサブフィールドのサステイン期間中、前記放電セルに含まれた電極に基底電圧が印加されることを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
- 前記予備期間に含まれるサブフィールドのサステイン期間中、前記放電セルに含まれた電極に前記基底電圧が略1〜3秒間、好ましくは2秒間印加されることを特徴とする請求項7記載のプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動方法。
