Abstract
【解決手段】 翼形状などの複雑な形状を基材に超砥粒で機械加工するために使用sれるクイル10は、軸部12、軸部12に隣接する拡大頭部14、拡大頭部14に隣接するテーパ状の研削部16を有する。研削部16は、ダイアモンドおよび立方晶窒化ホウ素よりなる群より選択されるグリット材の層を有している。好ましい実施形態では、クイル10は、研削部16の上にビトリファイドないしメッキされた立方晶窒化ホウ素クイルである。

Description
本発明の他の目的は、従来の工具よりも耐用寿命がより長い、上述の工具を提供することにある。
本発明の別の目的は、複雑な形状を機械加工するための改良された方法を提供することにある。

Claims (14)
- 超砥粒の機械加工に使用するための工具であって、
軸部と、
軸部に隣接する拡大頭部と、
前記拡大頭部に隣接するテーパ状の研削部とを有してなり、
前記研削部が、ダイアモンドおよび立方晶窒化ホウ素よりなる群から選択されたグリット材料層を有する、ことを特徴とする工具。 - 前記グリット材料が前記テーパ状の研削部上に電気メッキされている、ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の工具。
- 前記グリット材料が前記テーパ状の研削部上にろう付けされている、ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の工具。
- 前記グリット材料が前記テーパ状の研削部上にメッキされた立方晶窒化ホウ素である、ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の工具。
- 前記グリット材料がビトリファイド立方晶窒化ホウ素材料である、ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の工具。
- 前記拡大頭部がフィレット部によって前記テーパ状の研削部に接合されている、ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の工具。
- 前記軸部および前記拡大頭部がそれぞれ、レンチと適合するための複数の平面部を有している、ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の工具。
- 前記グリット材料が40から400の範囲のグリットサイズを有している、ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の工具。
- 前記グリット材料が45から325の範囲のグリットサイズを有している、ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の工具。
- 基材に複雑な形状を機械加工するための方法であって、
軸部と、軸部に隣接する拡大頭部と、拡大頭部に隣接するテーパ状の研削部と、テーパ状の研削部上のグリット材料層とを有する工具を用意するステップと、
研削用スピンドル中に前記工具の軸部を挿入するステップと、
40,000RPMから90,000RPMの範囲のスピンドル速度で前記工具を回転させるステップと、
前記回転する工具を基材の材料に接するように配置するステップとを有してなる、ことを特徴とする方法。 - 前記工具および前記基材材料の上に潤滑剤を噴射するこステップをさらに有してなる、ことを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記工具を用意するステップが、前記研削部上にビトリファイド立方晶窒化ホウ素またはメッキされた立方晶窒化ホウ素を有する工具を用意するステップを有してなる、ことを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
- 前記回転する工具を移動させて、前記基材の材料に複数の翼形状を形成するステップをさらに有してなる、ことを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。
- 複数の翼形状を有する部品を形成するための方法であって、
ビトリファイドグリット材料層を備えたテーパ状の研削部を有するビトリファイド立方晶窒化ホウ素クイルまたはメッキされた立方晶窒化ホウ素クイルを用意するステップと、
多軸フライス盤に使用される研削スピンドル内にクイルの端部を配置するステップと、
40,000RPMから90,000の範囲の回転軸速度でで前記クイルを回転させるステップと、
ニッケル合金、チタン合金、およびスチールからなる群から選択された基材材料に接するように回転するクイルを配置するステップとを有してなる、ことを特徴とする方法。
