Abstract
Transferable indicia are produced by applying indicia as a layer of protective material onto a metal layer, and dissolving the metal outside the indicia to leave separate indicia. The layer is pref. of aluminium foil which can be adhered on a carrier sheet. The indicia are pref. printed with ink and the metal is dissolved with ferric chloride which does not affect conventional printing inks. The carrier sheet is e.g. of paper, cardboard or plastic film, and the metal may be printed by silk-screen, offset or photolitho methods.
