Abstract

PURPOSE:To provide a spot heat-sensitive paper formed by partially applying a lactone compound in a layer over a substrate containing a phenol compound and capable of allowing printing only in necessary parts and writing and stamping seals in the rest of the parts, and free from troubles in drying. CONSTITUTION:In a heat-sensitive paper consisting of an achromatic or light coloring lactone compound, such as crystal violet lactone, and a heat-coloring phenol compound (e.g. 4,4'-isopropyridene diphenol or the like), the phenol compound is internally added to or applied on the surface of a substrate, such as a paper sheet, and a layer of the lactone compound is formed over the surface of the substrate, preferably in a plurality of parts.
