Abstract

Process is claimed for purifying exhaust gases contg. toxic substances comprises dispersing fine particles of a Ca-type absorbent into the exhaust gases and recovering the particles of absorbent having assimilated the toxic acid substances from the gases, using a dust particle collector. The recovered particles are hydrated in water vapour to expand their volume and to rupture the inactive envelope formed at their surfaces by the absorption of the toxic acid substances. The thus reactivated particles are then reinjected into the exhaust gas.
