Abstract

Title cpds of formula (I): (where R1 = H or hal and R2 = H or 1. alkyl), are prepd. by reacting hexamethylenetetramine (II) with the appropriate 2-(2-halobenzoyl)pyridine, in an aq. hydroxylic- org. medium in the presence of a non-oxidising acid, pref. HCl (<1 mole/mole (II)). (I) are known sedatives, muscle relaxants and anti-convulsants. [FR2144830A1]
