Abstract

991,196. Seat cushions. DUNLOP RUBBER CO. Ltd. July 13, 1962 [July 17, 1961], No. 26944/62. Heading A4M. A seat cushion of resilient cellular material comprises a body portion 1 having a depression 2 in its upper surface in which is accommodated an insert 3 of different hardness to that of the body 1. The body 1 and/or insert 3 may be a polyurethane or polyether foam. The body 1 and insert 3 are bonded together other than at the front edge 4. An arched cavity 5 in the lower face of the body 1 is lined with the fabric 6 bonded thereto and accommodates arched seat springs 9 which may be sinuous, helical, metal-trellis or leaf springs.
