Abstract
989,083. Shelf brackets. HAGGARD ROBINSON & CO. Ltd. June 14, 1963 [June 18, 1962], No. 23336/62. Heading A4B. A shelf support comprises a channel upright 1, a shelf support bracket 4 which is slidably engaged within the upright 1 and a set of inserts 10 slidable along and retained within the upright 1 and serving to locate the bracket 4 at the desired height. The inserts 10, which are of various lengths, are slidably engaged in side grooves 3 in the upright 1 and have projecting portions 11 extending into a longitudinal slot 2 between the spaced front walls 1c of the upright 1. The rear cheek 9 of the cantilever bracket 4 is slidably engaged behind the front walls 1c and rests on insert 10. Shelves are supported on the flanges 6 of the T- or L-shaped bracket arm 5 whose web 8 may extend upwardly or downwardly. Transverse uniformly spaced grooves 12 in the insert 10 serve to disguise the abutment region of adjacent inserts 10.
