Abstract

943,786. Lined cartons. A. R. RAUSING. Oct. 23, 1961 [Oct. 25, 1960], No. 37889/61. Heading B8P. A tubular cardboard carton lined with polyethylene has end closing flaps 3, 4 cut as shown at 11, so that, on folding the flaps outwardly, gusset portions 9 are formed. A flat sealing sheet 14 having a layer heat sealable to the lining is applied to the out-folded flaps and sealed thereto after which the flaps are folded inwardly and sealed together. The sealing of the gussets 9 to the sheet 14 provides leak-proof corners. The carton may have more than four sides. Specification 784,801 is referred to.
