Abstract

920,947. Grabs for handling material. K. KLAUS. Sept. 6, 1960, No. 30755/60. Class 78 (4). The jaws 15 of a grab with three or more jaws are opened and closed by telescoping movement applied to a pair of tubes 3, 4 by a ram 21, 26 within the tubes. The grab jaws 15 are hinged at 14 to a head 11 carried by the tube 4 and are connected by links 17 to the other tube 3. A slot 8 in the other tube 3 receives the connection 20 to one of the flexible hoses 7 supplying the ram. The head 11 is formed of webs 12 reinforcing a system of plates 9, 13.
