Abstract

An ethylene-propylene copolymer of reduced specific viscosity of at least 4,0 and which is extended with a hydrocarbon oil in which at least 75% of the carbon atoms are aliphatic or cycloaliphatic, is cross-linked by heating with an organic peroxide and sulphur. Auxiliary cross-linking agents which may be included are red lead and quinone dioxime. In examples optional ingredients included are carbon black, hydrogenated resin and phenolic resin.
