Abstract

A coating composition comprises a heavy aromatic solvent in which is dissolved polymerized isobutylene, polyethylene and a polymerized diene resin. The resin may be a polymer of cyclopentadiene dimers or a copolymer of dimers of cyclopentadiene and alkyl cyclopentadienes e.g. cyclopentadiene-methyl cyclopentadiene while white spirit is a specified solvent. A pigment may also be present and the coating composition may be used as a masking material in electrolytic baths.
