Abstract

Age hardening alloys contain in percentage by weight .Cr.10-25 .Mo.0-7 .W.0-7 .Nb.3-8 (Ta \sO 1/2 Nb) .Ta.3-8 (Ta \sO 1/2 Nb) .Ti.0,2-2 (Ti + Al \sO 2,5) .Al.0,2-2 (Ti + Al \sO 2,5) .C.0 -0,2 .Si.0 -1 .Zr.0 -0,5 .Cu.0 -4 .Mn.0 -1 .B.0 -0,02 .Fe.0 -40 .Co.45-80 Ni \sP 30 .Ni.45-80 Co \sO 40 the contents of Nb, Ta, Al, Ti, Cr and Ni being so related that when the Ni content exceeds 50% <FORM:0897464/II/1> is at least equal to 8,5, and when the Ni content does not exceed 50% (Nb+Ta)%+2(Al+Ti)%+0,05 Cr%+0,06 Ni% is at least equal to 8,5. The alloys are solution treated for one hour in the range 845-1200 DEG C. and age-hardened in the range 650-735 DEG C. for 4-24 hours. Alternatively, they may be age-hardened directly from the as-forged or hot rolled condition.
