Abstract

882,867. Transformers. FERRANTI Ltd. Dec. 3, 1959 [Dec. 5, 1958], No. 39281/58. Class 38 (2). A high voltage winding is formed with an axial cooling duct by arranging it in one or more groups Gp<SP>1</SP> to Gp10 each comprising a cylindrical coil such as 6 surrounded by spacedapart disc coils such as 7, 8, 9, 10. The coils are connected in series as shown and the spacers separating the disc coils from each other are keyed to the spacers separating the disc coils from the cylindrical coils. Lead-in coils 4, 5 may be provided. According to the Provisional Specification the disc coils may be wound as described in Specification 863,561.
