Abstract
552,874. Transformers &c. WESTINGHOUSE ELECTRIC INTERNATIONAL CO. June 12, 1942, No. 8083. Convention date, June 14, 1941. [Class 38 (ii)] To obtain a satisfactory distribution of surge voltages in transformer and like inductive windings, the capacity distribution of the winding is modified by dividing the winding into sections each comprising a number of disc coils the winding starting at that end of the first section which is remote from the end of the stack and continuing through the different disc coils of the section in turns of the same diameter and then back and forth in successive layers of different diameter. The order is reversed in successive sections as indicated by the turn numbering 1 ... 24.
