Abstract

881,975. Air filters; vacuum cleaners. ELECTROLUX Ltd. July 30, 1959 [Oct. 8, 1958], No. 26156/59. Classes 8(1) and 8(2). In a vacuum cleaner having a casing and a motor-fan unit drawing air through a dust bag, the outlet from the casing is fitted with an air filter which comprises a rigidly supported rectangular filter unit 14 attached by a rigid inlet nipple 56 to the outlet. The filter unit comprises a rigid casing 15 having open sides oppositely arranged and fitted with two inner fixed perforated plates 18, 19 and two similar removable outer plates 44, 45, between which are clamped fibrous filters 33, 34, the assembly being locked together laterally by a tie bar 28 and wing nuts 48, 49.
